Please help us come up with a name. I’ve narrowed it down to 3.

Trixie

Francie (pronounced with a soft “a” )

Cookie

We are fostering to adopt this sweet little girl and if it works out and she becomes a part of our family I think we will rename her. Her name now is Cookie. I don’t hate it but not sure I love it. Anyway these are the options.

I like Francie (sounds like France-ee) in honor of our girl Francesca who died in June and Fred who died in January. In the Jewish religion we name after our deceased loved ones and using just the first letter is fine to honor their memory. And I also think Francie is a sweet name and suits her. But we also like the name Trixie for her and it suits her too.

Would love PSers input. And I thought it would be a nice diversion from real life right now. So much unhappy stuff happening in the world. :(
Thanks.

I'm not fond of any of those choices. She looks like a Bootsie or Boots or Socks (Chaussettes in French pronounced show-sette) or Oreo.

@missy - she is so adorable! Look at that little face just gazing up at you :kiss2: . She actually looks like a Cookie to me - soft and sweet.

First thought - I love the sound of Trixie but Francie is more meaningful (as per your explanation).

So I opt for the latter.

I like Francie! Shes adorable.

I like Trixie cause she looks tricksy lol. I’d almost be tempted to call her Loki if she’s a mischief maker.

I voted for Trixie

She's beautiful!!! I like Francie because of the meaning behind the name.❤

I can't comment on a name suggestion since I don't know her personality (though I do love the sentiment of Francie), but just wanted to share my love for tuxedo kitties (well, all kitties really).

She looks a lot like our Frank, one of three that allow us to share their space (the other two are half feral and not too agreeable to being photographed). He is about 15 (showed up at our door 11 years ago), had an eye removed a few years back (glaucoma) and is on daily meds for hear murmur and hyperthyroid, but he's still pretty spry.

Congrats on the adorable new addition and good luck picking a name!

She's so perfect, right down to the white whiskers!

I like Cookie.

Lovely kitty and I voted for Francie.

DK :kiss2:

I immediately thought Tricksy when you listed Trixie. But if she's sweet and not a naughty troublemaker, I still like Cookie the best of the options listed. I like Francie, too, but Cookie better. What's the story behind the name Francie that I'm apparently missing?

'Francie' is more title than name among your cats, as you write... Is the newcommer worthy? (only half joking)

Will you always feel bittersweet though if you call her Francie?

She’s beautiful. What a sweetie!

Well hello there beautiful

In my household pets' official names don't matter all that much because they invariably wind up with pet names (heh) that have nothing to do with what their vet records say ::) I don't know if you and Greg are that way too @missy!

HI:

Francee cuz its has meaning.

But "Sugar" (in any language) informally, because she is ALL sweetness and b/c she dipped her whiskers and feet in confectioners sugar! As @yssie suggests, pet names are inevitable.

cheers--Sharon

what a cutie pie :kiss2: i love the sentiment behind "francie"...fancy francie in her tux

She looks like Timothy- the cat who had the kittens under our grape vine last year
...its probably best i have no part in this naming :mrgreen2:
But i like Trixie because i read Trixie Baldon growing up and also there is a nurse in call the midwife called Trixie
Tibby took forever to get a name- we just caller him The Tabby because we were going to take him to the SPCA once he got friendly
Tinky came with his name and Borris ...well we thought she was a boy too :mrgreen2:
Im amazed how your feline family tolerate new members
My friend who has horses, always changes their name just slightly so they still regonise it but enough of a change to signify a new life

I called Timothy that because of the similarity to a naval dress uniform so after Princess Ann's husband Sir Timothy Lawrence :lol-2:

Good luck little cookie :kiss2:

Ecactly!
Borris is Bork (poor girl really lucked out on the sweet girlie names )
Tinky was Tinx or Stink (he smelt lovelly btw) and Tibby is knackers or fluffy balls ...well you know why:mrgreen2:

Trixie but short for Beatrix like the Princess, the former Queen of the Netherlands- because all cats are princess and princes
Also shorted to Trix and it sounded like Tinx

She’s beautiful and resembles Francesca so I voted Francie (or spell it Francee, and I think you’ll know why  )
I am so happy for you all and wish you the very best and much love with your new family member. ♥️

My parents years ago had her twin, her name was Bockee, short for Reebok because of the white socks and shoes!!!

Thanks all for your input. We are also now considering Sophie (have always loved that name and she seems like a Sophie and Fiona (thanks @rainwood) since that would also honor Fred and Francesca. But I am not sure yet. We have been calling her Francie and it feels right. But we have time so not rushing into any decision.

For those of you who have pointed out perhaps it is too close to Francesca's name (and nickname of Frankie) I don't think it bothers me or makes me feel sad. But I do get those concerns and am thinking about it. I appreciate you pointing it out.

I'm not fond of any of those choices. She looks like a Bootsie or Boots or Socks (Chaussettes in French pronounced show-sette) or Oreo.

Fred's original name was Oreo. Didn't like it then (for our cat) and don't care for it now. But I do love it for other cat's names and it suits them well. But just not for our cats. And not a fan of Boots or Boots or Socks for her. Thank you though for sharing your thoughts @Matata. As always I appreciate them.

First thought - I love the sound of Trixie but Francie is more meaningful (as per your explanation).

So I opt for the latter.

Thank you @lucida818!

I like Francie! Shes adorable.

Thank you @telephone89!

I like Trixie cause she looks tricksy lol. I’d almost be tempted to call her Loki if she’s a mischief maker.

Thank you @MakingTheGrade ...time will tell if she is a mischief maker. She might be. I love the name Loki but my parents already named one of their cats Loki. So many names are already taken lol. Especially when you come from my family of crazy animal people.:P2

I love Francie! She is adorable!

Thank you @HS4S_2 ! She is a sweet girl. She is very vocal too. All our cats are. It is never quiet here anymore lol.

I voted for Trixie

Thank you @Austina !

She's beautiful!!! I like Francie because of the meaning behind the name.❤

Thanks @Diamond Girl 21!
