Impulse buy of Cobalt Spinels Finally Set

I bought some beautiful Tanzanian spinels from Yvonne last year and have been kicking myself because I couldn’t figure out how to use them! Finally inspiration struck, and I have 2 similar rings, one with a spinel center and the other a moonstone. The spinel is a repurposed mounting and the moonstone is a new mount DK made for me. Am not home, so will have to add the spinel when I am. Can’t wait to see the moonstone in person. DK’s pictures don’t show the adularescence.

This is so cool! Love that you paired them with a blue flash moonstone. I also love clever repurposing. What mm are they? I have some Luc Yen melee that I think I want to set next. I love when one of my pieces is on DK's bench with another PSer's piece.

I need to get the box back from DK to tell you. I bought them back in March of last year because yours were so gorgeous!

I recall us purchasing them together!! It's so exciting to see some set. Yvonne told me her goldsmiths should set them, because they're really tricky. I just always tend to use DK these days, so I'm relieved to hear it went well. But they're very clean for VT cobalt material... the TZ stones even more so. In that respect, I hope they're more durable than the typical heavily included material.

Beautiful rings...especially love seeing the cobalt blue spinels set with a blue sheen moonstone.

(One of my first custom rings was a mooonstone ring with blue hauynes. It is still one of my favorite combinations.)
