I picked up this peachy pink tourmaline from Jim McCormick on Loupe Troop. I have had a few stones cut but this was the first one I have bought off of someone before. I have a setting that I want to change out the center with and this was the right size and shape. I am still new to colored stones. It is a bit deep though.

I don’t know if some minor recutting might change the color by darkening it? If that’s the case, I will leave it as is. It is such a nicer color then I could get from a morganite.

Some morganite are very pretty and a lovely pink, but they tend to fade in sunlight, and are often irradiated and heated. Tourmaline is a more stable choice. Enjoy your pretty gem.
