images of CAD vs. Real Thing?

I am (im)patiently waiting for my ring to be finished...dreaming of what it will look like compared to the CAD images and was wondering:

Is there a specific thread that shows the CADs vs. the finished products? I know my ring is going to have less metal than shown in the CADs but how much less - is there a standard amount that is removed?

I would love a thread that showed the before/after shots of rings and CADS!

Agreed, I''m excited to see the results of this thread... I wish I had something to share haha. Maybe in a few years.

aww gemgirl - thanks for thinking of me, but.... the eternity is no more

I lost a stone (I wondered if I was paranoid enough to will it to happen

but sure enough - looked down and lost a stone realized this at the zoo

) so I ended up shipping the remaining stones off to Sally to recycle into two separate band a new design she wanted to debut(coming soon

)

This one, so far, is the one that looked much different as a finished project...looking at the CAD, I wasn''t expecting the sweeping shape of the prongs - beautiful!

Lost Sapphire, yours is the first CAD I''ve seen that looks almost exactly the same as the real deal.


Agree with Pierreone, most CADS are about 10-15% heavier than the finished product.
