After seeing the post for double milgrain diamond studs, I have decide that I wanted to purchase them for my milestone birthday!

I just received these images for diamonds from IDJ, to my untrained eye, they look great. They both scored lower than a 2.0 on the HCA.

Do I get something like this or go with an uncertified and get a larger TCW?

Diamond 1 is .41 CT, H/SI1 and Diamond 2 is .42/G/SI1.

Any thoughts on these would be greatly appreciated.

They look really good to my non-expert eye, as well. How exciting!!

These images are excellent and should make for a beautiful pairl!! I just upgraded my studs with IDJ and cannot emphasize enough that they are awesome!!

Not sure what the cost difference would be for you, but for what it's worth, the uncerted h&a pair I had from them were also great and super sparkly.

They look like they'll be great!

IDJ is about the only place I'd trust to do an uncerted stone. If you don't think you'll upgrade again, then it might be a good option.

I would not consider ungraded stones. These look great! However, I would tell them to find me two in the same color. I realize on the ears, people can't really see the color difference, but someday you may decide to use these stones for sidestones in a three stone ring, or something, and I think it makes more sense to get both stones the same color.

They look nice!

Eeee I'm so excited for your new studs! :appl:

Thank you. Last question: these or wait for a Brian Gavin diamond the same size? I know these are xxx, and BGD doesn't have any inventory in the .4 range. Just over 1tcw puts me over budget by about $1500.

If BGD doesn't have the size in stock right now, pass for now. I think sticking within a budget is important unless going over it won't stress you out too badly lolol. If there is a Claire's by you in a local mall, I'd suggest getting one of those multi pack of studs where they have studs of different sizes for a low price and trying them on to see what your goal size is. I have 0.78 or 0.87 ctw milgrain studs from IDJ and they are a nice everyday size, but not in a disappearing into your lobes way, because they do get noticed. I've gotten compliments on them before, even when they've needed a good cleaning!

Thank you PintoBean. I just moved forward with these studs, I think the .4 range is appropriate for just entering my 40's. Were also buying a new house in a few months, so I can't stray from the budget too much.

I appreciate your feedback.

I find that BGD stones are usually more expensive than other super ideals and I think it would also be a lot more costly to upgrade them in the future than it would with IDJ. I just wouldn't blow my budget for them. Just my 2cts!

Have you checked Whiteflash? They have about 20 stones in the .4 G/H range right now.
Not sure what your budget is though.

They arrived today and are beautiful. When I read up on the art of photos I will post some photos that do these justice. Until then, this is all I can do. IMG_0567.JPG
