If you are not at a vendor who is cut concerned, and there are many, they will not gain any advantage by showing you these things.Date: 1/5/2008 6:49:45 AM

Why don''t more vendors have these kinds of scopes for you to use to judge their diamonds? Are the scopes not reliable or do the vendors typically not have good stones?
We can not forget vendors here on PS are extremely cut concerned especially when it come to rounds. But its a drop in the bucket as far as the overall vendors that exists.

True true. There are many fancies I can think of that if viewed under a reflector may lead a person to a false conclusion about the actual beauty of the stone.Date: 1/5/2008 9:25:52 AM

A lot of stores/vendors are cut concerned but dont take it to the extreme in which PS vendors take the issue. That does not mean they offer badly cut stones.
There are many fine jewelers that are cut concerned and use their good reputable name to back up the Diamonds they use in their jewelry designs!
It could very well be that their Diamonds are not TOP of the class round cuts..., but there is quite a gap between a Top cut and badly cut!
PS is a small world (although getting bigger and bigger), and the majority of jewelry stores (online or B&M) dont even know of these tools existence. Like I said many times before..., this industry is used to trade on extremely primitive fashions (practices going back thousands of years), but a place like PS is definitely making waves producing a new type of breed! But it is a slow path.
On another note..., fancy shaped Diamonds still rely mostly on the individual eyes and taste..., thank god!![]()
