I don''t mean to scare you but maybe it''s good that you are on your toes now. You are the new guy which means you really need to bust your butt more than everyone else if they do start doing budget cuts. My sister was telling me yesterday out in longmont the company she works for cut 187 people and everyone that remained was forced to take a 10% decrease in their pay. Times are really tough here in colorado right now. I heard we had one of the top 5 unemployment rates in the us and on the news the other day I heard that just in january 1/2 a million people have filed unemployment.
With all that said, I''m glad your meeting wasn''t as terrible as you thought it would be! And I''m really sorry to hear about your uncle *hugs*
I have an interview on monday at a company in downtown denver working with illustrator so maybe we''ll pass each other on the street one of these days if i get the job
But we feel it was for the best given his situation. At least he will be at peace now...
And even worse, after he passed on...my Great Aunt (his sister) started feeling pretty sick and an irregular heart beat. They had to take her down to the emergency room where they admitted her
OMG we were all freaking out about that. But I guess she just had a heartbreaking reaction to my Great Uncle's passing. That was her last sibling left as they have all passed before her. So it's pretty hard on her. They did various tests on her and then gave her some medication and she was released and spent the night at my Aunt's house. As far as I know, she will be ok.....
I know you must feel horribly overwhelmed by all of this stuff. I would be out of my mind with worry. I am terribly sorry to hear about your uncle and your aunt; I will keep them in in my thoughts.
As for your job, do the best you can. It''s all you can do right now. Someone said something to me which I thought was very smart, "I don''t get stressed over it, because it doesn''t change my management of the situation." Even if there is a new boss, or layoffs, there is nothing you can do but work hard, and hope they will see you as an invaluable asset.
Just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. I''m so sorry to hear about your uncle. It''s never easy to go through something like that so major ((((HUGS)))) to you!
But as they say, bad things come in threes, so losing your great uncle, your aunt falling ill (who I''m glad is doing better now!), and job are the three. That means you''re due for something wonderful any day now.
i just saw this!! i am so sorry Dreamgirl!! Im glad you didnt get laid off! Im so sorry about your great uncle. its always so sad to lose a family member...dust and prayers for your family
As for you job, the best thing you can do is work as hard as you can. You have to take thing day by day. Hopefully everything will work out and you will be able to keep your job. Did that put the hiring freeze of after they hired you?
