I''ve been lurking this site for awhile now and have recently ordered the following stone to evaluate:

round AGS0
H VS2
Depth: 61.6
Table 56.9%
Crown Angle 35.9 degrees (15.6%)
Pavillion: 40.6 degrees (42.8%)

What I''m reading is that the crown is high and am wondering if it''s an AGS0, I not on the cusp of being an AGS1?

The HCA when I punch in the degrees, gives me VG, EX, VG, VG (1.7)

When I punch in the percentages, gives me EX, EX, VG, VG (1.5) Which is more accurate?

My intent was to get a nice size stone and am willing to sacrifice some colour (yes this is how we spell colour up north) and clarity but not cut. I want the best cut possible for the size and I specifically ordered an AGS0 but after reading about crown angles, AGS standards, etc, I''m not too sure about this one. I''m trying to attach a poor resolution of the AGS Grading Report but I''m failing miserably. The ASET on the platinum cert shows it has near perfect arrows with oodles of red, and blue for the arrows and minimal greens. As soon as I figure how to do this I''ll tack it on.

On a side note, the information I gathered from these sites helped me purchase a couple of H VS1/VS2 (total ct wt 1.415), AGSO with HCA ratings of 0.8 and 1.0. They''re WF ACA and will look absolutely stunning I''m sure.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Angles are more accurate on the HCA.

Will prefer to see the actual ASET/IS image if you can get one, but from the numbers, it look promising.

Thanks. I''ll try attempt to attach a picture but it''s over 100k so I have to do some figuring out.

BTW, the stone is 2.29 ct (not that it should make any difference)

You can post the link to the Whiteflash website showing your stone and that should show us the images. However WF aca are a very consistent brand so nothing to worry about there. Just ask Bob Hoskins if the stone is Eye Clean and if it has perfect hearts and arrows from the hearts viewer and no leakage from the Idealscope. I am sure he will answer you and with ta few rare exception smosts ACAs should fit this stringent criteria.

I love the possiblities of this diamond.

The higher crown matched with a slightly shallower pavillion, as this diamond has, brings it into FIC (Fiery Ideal Cut) range. What this means is that in certain lights, this type of diamond will show a bit more fire (colored spectral light) than most. It is kind of reminiscent of some of the old cut styles that look fabulous in candlelight and other low light settings. Since you have ACA''s, you would probably see a slight difference in personalities.

Thanks for this.

The larger stone is not ACA but is being called a Hearts and Arrows. I ordered the stone before learning that I could buy my stuff from U.S. companies. My canadian broker ordered the stone from the same cutter and it''s still posted on PS. (http://www.idjewelryonline.com/cert.php?id=SD1143

Sorry if I wasn''t clear.

This can't be an ACA from the proportions as you mention canuk, but it could be a spectacular stone, images are essential if you can post them please. If you could also post the actual Idealscope and ASET images rather than the computer generated one on the report, that would be preferable.
