So I've been enjoying my (small by PS LGD standards) 2.56ct J-VS1 radiant, but I've been bit by the size bug. Plus my husband made a comment about the color (he's VERY color sensitive while the I-J range was always my favorite). So I'm on the hunt for a new shiny rock, and my criteria is ridiculously fantastic, lol! I'm wanting:

  • Must be over 5.5 carats
  • Emerald or radiant cut
  • D-F color
  • VS1 clarity lowest
  • 1:3-1:4 ratio (I like chonky rocks!)
  • 9mm+ width, and if it can work with a 10x12 setting (which means .5mm +/- on length)
  • $2,700 max (I still have to get a setting).
Any good contenders out there? I'm not in a rush, and may just hold off til August to purchase. I've been busy in the medical world and am reacclimating to the LGD world. :)

Emerald or radiant is a big difference in style - step cut vs crushed ice. And emeralds are tough to find anyway bc of the need to see them in person.

You might want to reach out to Jonathan @Rhino at Distinctive Gem for concierge service with those tough fancy shapes, but I’m sure his prices are higher than what you’ve posted. You could also reach out to Alex Park on IG, although I’m pretty sure even his prices will run you more than $2700.

It’ll be easier for the experts if you post a few contenders and have them comment.

Yay for your foray into 5.5+ territory!

Why D-F, if you like I-J?

Because the color in my radiant has started to bother me now that I know my husband isn't a fan. Mind clean is a very different thing. ;)

I love both cuts tbh. I'm needing to stay within budget or not get one. It's not a NEED, but a want, as another diamond is not something I really need to get.

Update: I ordered one! It is a 6.59ct F-VS1 measuring 12.26 - 9.8 x 6.59 mm (I like a 1.25-1.3 ratio). It was only $2,400. I can't wait to see it!

Oh wow, that's awesome, over 6.5ct! Congrats ... and you will get used to the size very quickly! LOL!

Hey, you should check out this new site, www.yourdiamondguys.com. It’s got this cool AI that scans for inclusions and weeds out the bad ones, so you only see the best diamonds with nice imperfections. Plus, there’s tons of info on there to help you out.

Oh, thank you so much! But Wink and John Pollard taught me very well. I got this. ;-)
