Same here. I saw that dsong was listed as the last poster, clicked on his name, and there was no post.

Oh well. I hope it worked out.

Hey what's up everyone,

To my disapointment, the manager of Christian Bernard would not give me a full refund and insisted that I must pay for the ring. He said that he could not take the loss for the special order and said that I could go ahead and contact my credit card.

He is one big sleezball! Anyway, I'm going to send in my inquiry to my credit card today and try to find Christian Bernard's corporate number. Does anyone know it or can find it for me? Thanks! And thank you for all your concerns! Gonna have to do it the hard way!

Hang in there! I don't see how he can claim he can't take a hit on a "special order" when he didn't even deliver the stone you wanted. You agreed to purchase the set because of the stone. And then he didn't deliver the stone. That was an integral part of the transaction. Dispute it and stand your ground.

I would defintely contact their corporate offices. Their website is www.chrsitian-bernard.com

It looks like their main number is 201-330-1007. You should call and send a complaint email, as well. You will be surprised how quickly they react sometimes. Be firm and all will work out fine. He's the one who should be nervous now.

I'm just sorry you are having to go through this. This should be a special purchase, and one person is ruining it for you. Just know that, once this is resolved, you can proceed from scratch and have a MUCH better experience the second time around!
 
Ag... this is terrible! Defintely follow Marlin's suggestions. If the diamond hasn't been set, it's obvious he woundn't be taking a 'hit' on the setting. What's your ring size? 5-7? He' can sell that eventually! What a jerk!
 
Yes, be firm with CB corporate and detailed in your letter to your CC company. I might specifically include your feeling that you've been the victim of the ol' "Bait and switch" scam, and though you saw through it, they're still trying to hang half of it on you. Incidentally, I'd definitely write a separate letter to your state's office of consumer affairs or whoever handles such things.
 
UPDATE!!!!!

I called my credit card company to get an update on my Billing inquiry and they said they sent me a letter that on 6/4/2004, I was refunded the FULL AMOUNT of $5100!!!! WOOHOO! Thanks everyone! A great ending!
