My *fiancé* 
proposed after a lovely dinner celebrating my 25th birthday this past Saturday. 
Since I was kind of expecting it, he kept leading me to believe it wasn't going to happen that day. So when he took me to our favorite local spot, looked me in the eyes and told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and got down on one knee, I couldn't be more surprised or happy. Even though I obviously knew it was coming, considering we picked out my ring together, I still didn't emotionally feel engaged until the moment he asked me to marry him.
