This knock off will be for test purposes. A try on at the B&M stores just isn''t long enough. After seeing some beautiful ECs here, I''m thinking about a RHR in the future. As I''ve never even thought of this before I''m not sure if I''d like an EC on me. I think I''ll buy a Shemoni knock off and see if I like it. It''s an inexpensive way to get the feel of a style.

Even though I had my diamond on hold at BGD, I tried on Shemoni''s sparklers to see how styles felt. It reassured me that simple was what I was after.

Anyone else done anything like this?

not me--i always knew what i wanted but i think it makes perfect sense if you are unsure

Yes, I did! I bought a cheap (like $20 dollar) 5 stone to wear with my ering for a month or 2 to see if that was really
the kind of wedding ring I wanted. I decided it was right for me and now I have the real thing...see avatar. I would
recommend this to anyone who isn''t quite sure of what they want. It really helped bring it home for me.

I bought a faux bezel band to wear before I purchased mine.

I have two fake rings--when I couldn''t decide if I wanted a sapphire eternity band or a sapphire/diamond eternity band (to use as a spacer), I bought a fake sapphire and diamond and it helped me to determine that I just wanted a plain sapphire band.

I also have a 2 carat emerald cut solitaire cz set in white gold (it was only about $50). I wear it occasionally just for fun--a couple of weeks ago I went into a jewelry store to look at a different emerald cut ring that I have my eye on and the salesman complimented me on my "beautiful diamond". I told him it was fake and he didn''t believe me, haha.

I think buying a cheap fake ring is a great idea--it''s like test driving a car before making a very expensive purchase.

Trying a knock off is a great idea. . .the only thing is i''d feel a bit self-concious wearing a fake ring outside of the house. . .guess if you''re only going to wear it at home, it''d be no biggie.

I''ve done it when I could decide or if I wanted something to wear for fun/travel. I am highly sentimental with my important rings, so I have bought good knock offs to travel or when I was pregnant and didn''t feel like resizing every few months. I think it is a great idea when you are unsure of things.

I''ve certainly seen a lot of clients take the approach of wearing a "not real" ring for awhile to get a feel for what they like, I think it is perfectly fine... Certainly preferable to buying a diamond ring and then deciding a short time later that you would prefer something else.

I had a couple nice moissanite rings made to wear when I wanted something nicer than CZ''s, but for some reason didn''t want to wear diamonds. I wear them a lot over here in the sandbox.

I bought 3 cz rings before we purchased my EC ering. I wanted to see the difference between RB, EC and Princess. I am really glad I did. I always knew that EC was my favorite, but the cz rings just helped reinforce it! Also, I can wear them when I travel.
