Whew! What an adventure. Wedding went off without a hitch. Will post in the proper forum about that when the official pics arrive which is supposed to be the 2nd week of November. The weather was purrrrrrrrrrrrrect in Hungary, Croatia. And on our wedding day (Friday the 13th, who knew?), Rome had it's hottest day in 3 months. My most vivid memories of the wedding day are rivulets of sweat snaking down the side of my face during picture taking, and hundreds of tourists snapping photos of us. Who on earth takes pictures of total strangers to put in their vacation albums? It was most bizarre. Anywhoo, here are some pics of the honeymoon.
Dubrovnik harbor. City is surrounded by an ancient wall that protected it in long ago days (but not in 1996 when the town was bombed to bits the Serbians).
You can walk the entire circumference of the city on the wall
We stopped for cocktails at this little cafe chiseled into the cliff -- not the place to be if you're afraid of heights
Steps up from main plaza to our hotel (a 600 year old house converted into 5 room hotel). Everywhere you go there, you're walking up or down steep stairs. We ate like little piggies and I lost 8 pounds in 3 days! My hubby is perched at the hotel's door.
Two more pics of the wall
Will start a part 2 with pics of Budapest
