I''ll finally stop teasing and show you what I bought....

First up, I got a grossular garnet from Dan. It''s very faintly yellow - he says it looks close to a warmer diamond. I''m getting more of a yellow tinge in it in some of the pics because of my yellow kitchen lights, but you can see from some of my (rapidly failing) daylight pics that it''s pretty faint. I love it! It''s 0.65 ct., 5.55 mm. I''m thinking of making it my "travel ring" for when I go to NZ - bezel maybe? Rose gold? Or white?

Ok so are you ready for the second unveiling?

This is a Barry Bridgestock green tourmaline supernova oval. You might remember it from his Feb. inventory - here

I had a slight heart attack earlier today when photographing this. It was the last one I was taking pics of and the light outside was going FAST - I was in a rush and DROPPED it

I thought it had rolled under the loveseat so I was moving that thing around looking for it, but it was on the windowsill. Whew!

Now my last one - I got them all today! If only everyday brought such nice things in the mail!

This is a BB Malaya. I forget the carat weight (I think it''s somewhere around 1.3) but it''s 6.5 mm. Initially I really wanted the Malaya that TL got - I was just hesitating over price, but I''m glad that she got it (it''s lovely TL!) and I waited for this one. This one if my favorite - -it just has SO much life! It''s a very pretty rose color indoors, but in natural light, it does this crazy color shift thing to a peachy color. Barry said he hasn''t seen anything like it, and it''s really pretty!

Lovely stones!! I love the richness of the green tourmaline, it's just stunning! The malaya is so pretty, also! You can never go wrong with Dan's stone!!

What are your plans with the other two?

Bezeling Dan's stone will probably be nice. I'm not sure about the color of the gold, I always seem to get confused when it comes to that!

Thanks Mochi!! I''m not sure yet - I wasn''t thinking the tourmaline would be that big (not that that''s a bad thing at all!) so I think I''ll eventually set that in a solitaire (instead of a halo). I think white gold for that one - maybe a plain split-shank (kind of like the one that Kelli posted in her garnet re-set thread). For the malaya...rose gold. I''m pretty sure anyway! I''m actually thinking another trellis, or maybe just a plain RG cathedral like AJ''s.

And story about the bling - only the front row are rings I wear. The YG ones in the top row are my high school class ring and my rings from my childhood (one is my first ring ever - my baby ring). I''m going to keep those (brought them back from home this weekend) and that little YG heart one (without the initial) will eventually go to my daughter (if I have one!)
