Grading reports by the IGI on lab-grown diamonds will now include details of post-growth treatments.

The lab says previous reports have indicated only that lab-growns "may include post-growth treatments to alter color".

Thanks to advances in technology it says it can now it can confidently state whether a diamond was "as grown" or may have been treated.

For untreated CVD) and High HPHT diamonds, the new reports will outline the individual growth process and indicate specifically that the stones are "as grown with no indication of post-growth treatment."

Why does it matter?
Its a manufactured good and that means things often go through several steps.

Does not matter to me - I am just a messenger. But others might care.

I think this is one of those areas where the earth mined diamond business is somehow different than lab grown business.
i tend to follow the same course for lab grown as I do with mined diamonds.
As such, it seems very important to me to disclose aspects such as irradiation or HPHT
Maybe consumers won’t care....
Time will tell.
Kudos to IGI from my perspective
