A guy attached a digital camera to his cat's collar one day a week for a year, and it was set up to take pictures every two minutes. Some of the pictures "Cooper" took were so fascinating and fun.

Story here
Pics here

Enjoy!

ETA: I forgot to mention that if you hit "show info" by the pictures it will describe where he was/what he was doing. I like the picture of him jumping into the Christmas tree! lol

I''ve seen that, it''s so hilarious!

I want to do it for my cat! And I want to find where to get one of those kitty doors!

That is freaking awesome! I want to do that with my kitty...except she''s an indoor cat lol.

Mine too. I think I''d only get photos of eating and sleeping.

How cool! I too love the picture of him jumping into the Christmas tree! He had some great nature shots on there!

Okay that''s awesome. And I love that they take the cat everywhere with them. He''s obviously a VERY special cat. But... I got so scared for him in some of those shots... the busy streets he crosses. I guess it''s a matter of quality of life (he''s got a great one) and safety (keeping him indoors). I hope he lives a long and happy life and that nothing happens to him outside.

Gypsy, you said what I was thinking.

The FIRST thing that crossed my mind when I saw that was "cool" and the second "how is it that people let their cats outside" - some of those shots made me think of all kinds of things that could happen to that cat - cars, people, other animals...

I''m sure the cat enjoys being outside, I just couldn''t bring myself to let him out - I would constantly be worried. Maybe some would view that as selfish...but if something happened to him I could never forgive myself.

That cat gets around! My 3 kitties stay indoors, so their pictures wouldn''t be too exciting. Although I wouldn''t be surprised to see them on top of things they''re not allowed on, like the kitchen table!

I loved this!!! It was so much fun to look at! I loved all of the shots pearing out of the leaves.

Too cute...

but I will say that I was a little POed by the one where the caption was "We have no idea where this is..." or "Here is a busy intersection that Cooper shouldn''t have crossed." If I had proof that my cat was wandering all over the neighborhood and into places he shouldn''t be, this would probably be enough incentive for me to realize that cats shouldn''t be outdoors...

otherwise, a cute story/concept.

That's amazing!! Too funny (though I agree with Elmorton's worries). Thanks for sharing, I love those silly kitties!!!

I really want to put a camcorder in an upper corner of our apartment to see what our dog does while we're out. He's only recently begun to get over his separation anxiety, so he's being left out while we're gone for the first time lately. Yet when we come home, he's always EXACTLY where we "left" him. I'm curious whether he just sits there the whole time...

That is the coolest, funniest and most touching blog. I wish I had thought of this!

Amazing! Cats have amazing adventures!

However, I am SHOCKED that it didn''t have snapshots of newspapers and Internet sites. I fully expected cats to read The New York Times and surf CNN.com while their humans weren''t around.
