I just upgraded my diamond for our upcoming 15th wedding anniversary! (Yay us) My prior stone was 1.25 carat round; a nice size, but it didn't attract attention. My new stone is a 3 carat old mine brilliant, which, while not gigantic by PS standards, is a good size in the non-PS world.
We're going on a family cruise to the Caribbean in about a month. I've visited the Caribbean many times, and I know that *most* islands are safe enough in tourist areas during the day. For example, I wouldn't hesitate to walk around Aruba, St. John or even St. Thomas in well-traveled areas wearing this ring. However, some islands like St. Lucia (one of the ports) has had hold-up robberies of tour groups, etc.
Ladies, would you wear a 3 carat e-ring on your cruise? And if you did, when you wanted to leave it on-ship, would you leave it in your room safe (I know there are crew who can override your code) or the ship's safe?
Ring is insured. I know it's always safer to leave $$$ jewelry at home, but I have this ring because I want to wear it and enjoy it. I would have worn my prior e-ring on this cruise without a second thought.
