Kaleidoscopic, I know what you mean. Sometimes I wish that you could just get the one ring - get a beautiful e-ring, and not worry about it matching or sitting flush with another ring, and just use that as the wedding ring! Or, maybe just get some simple band, to wear when you don''t want to wear the e-ring. Or, that the custom was to wear them on different hands.
I voted ER on left hand and WR on right for the same reasons others have mentioned. I am right-handed, so I''m active with my right hand and would bang around the ER a lot if I wore it on that hand. However, I will be doing exactly what you say above, OFG, about either getting just one ring and using it for both or getting two rings but wearing them only one at a time on the left hand. The e-ring I''m getting will not sit flush with any wedding band, so no matter what, I wouldn''t wear two rings on the same hand. I''m also not a jewelry person, and I hate having rings on my right hand. So I''ll either make the e-ring become also the wedding ring, or get a wedding ring but wear only one ring at a time on the left.

I didn''t even think about practicalities! I voted for wedding ring on the left because that''s considered the wedding ring finger in the UK. In Europe it''s sometimes the right hand for marriage though.

ER on left, wedding band on right. Why? I use my right hand a lot more and to me it looks "right"!

Thanks for all the replies, and keep them coming! It is good to hear the different reasons. One reason I started this poll is because I am planning to re-set my engagement diamond into a white setting. I already have a yellow gold wedding set (for background, I''ll put the two links below.). So for the new e-ring setting, I don''t want to have to worry about it matching or sitting flush with a wedding ring, since that was part of my original dilemma when I was engaged. Sometimes I might want to wear my yg wedding set, for sentimental and other reasons, and that will always have to be left hand. But I could still wear my newly-set e-ring setting on the right. (I don''t mind wearing different colors too much, as long as they''re on different hands. - I know, I know, pet peeve for many of you!!

) However, I wouldn''t mind getting a (white metal) diamond anniversary ring also

, and wear it and the white e-ring on separate hands instead of any yellow gold. Hence the question of which hand for which. This will also maximize my options. I think part of my overall ring-dilemma was also the problem of deciding on one and only one set of two rings that you have to wear at all occasions every day for the rest of your life. This way I at least have more variety! If the anniversary ring and the e-ring go well enough, maybe I could even be convinced to wear them together on the same finger for maximum bling at some fancy event!?

I wonder if the poll results would have been any different if I specified e-ring and anniversary band, rather than e-ring and wedding ring?

any more votes???

I wear my wedding band on my left and engagement ring on my right. I would love to wear them both together on the left but my halo e-ring just doesn''t work well with a band so I had to size up and move it to my right hand when I got married. I wear a diamond eternity band as my wedding ring on my left hand. I feel like it''s a little more jewelry than I would typically wear--not used to having rings on both hands--but it was the only solution I could come up with.

I vote wedding ring on the left and e-ring on the right. Believe it or not, scummy men will still hit on you if they think you're engaged. Gross.

I voted 2) E-ring on left hand, Wedding band on the right.

Anymore votes floating around out there?

Since my e-ring is bulkier, I have to wear it on my left hand. I''m right-handed so my less cumbersome w-band works better on my right. That said, I always wear my e-ring and w-band together on my left.

plain gold wedding ring on left hand, mostly because it has become so tight over the years it will have to be cut off. when i was married I was ring size 5, now i am ring size 7.

engagement ring all over the place-- what suits my fancy that day...and three different wraps for diamond ADD.

wedding band on left hand, e-ring on right. I wear my wedding band on my left hand every day, never take it off. I usually wear my engagment ring (really my anniversary ring) over that, but sometimes wear it on my right as well. To me the wedding band has much more symbolic significance, and if you wore it on your right hand, how would someone even know you are married?

I don''t have either, but when I get them, I will my WR on my right hand and my ER on my left hand. In my culture, the WR is always worn on the right hand and an ER is typically not even given! This also helps becuase I am right handed and will be able to work better with a simple band on my right hand as opposed to an ER.

I am getting a university class ring 14 karat gold. I am wondering if this ring on my right hand will look like an engagement ring at a distance? Would yall agree?

I see no reason it would look like an e-ring. E-rings are usually worn on the left hand ring finger.

ditto what DS2006 said and class rings are normally shaped pretty distinctively so most people can tell it''s a class ring.

#1 - wedding band on the left, e-ring on the right.

The reason why I asked is that I have an option between antique and natural finish. The natural finish at a distance looks like a glob of gold. Antique finish showes much of the features and lettering. I searched images on yahoo under "14 men wedding ring", and there turned up some big tappered gold rings that look like class rings at a distance. And I plan on wearing my ring alot.

ok my answer was ering on the left, wband on the right, bc that is what I have... sorta.

my wband is a SP eternity shared prong, and my ering is a three stone.... so to prevent scratching of the ering from the wband, I wear the ''real'' wband on the right hand.

BUT I have a plain WG band I wear on the left w/my ering!

ruunnn -

I would say either way is fine. Personally if I saw a big fat ring on a guy''s right hand I would assume it''s a class ring, usu they look quite distinctive.

thanks, for the info. anyways, i changed my finish to antique, since i''ll be wearing it almost everyday, only $25 extra. Balfour was very willing to make the change which includes an extra week to finish.
Sonny,
PS. your avitar is cool.
