I think a milgrain bezel (thin) looks amazing on old stones. There's so many options I have no other suggestions, haha.

Rather than a diamond halo I would set it in an illusion setting of gold so that it retains the vintage look. I had my OMC made in a custom setting and love the design. It looks much bigger than it actually is! The only difference for your stone is that I would change the prongs and have something more delicate. I had to have chunky claws to hide a chip on the stone.

I love illusion mounts like that LD. Actually, my temporary mount has fishtail prongs so will likely have a similar effect!
