... on an engagement ring or wedding band (you are already married), what would you buy to get the most BLING for your buck?

Great question, I would spend it all on an antique cushion in a really delicate setting. Then I would take Mr Lottie out for dinner and explain that I really need a super thin microwave band from Leon Mege to go with my lovely big cushion!

Do I already have an engagement ring or wedding band? Or am I jewel-less?

I'd get a 5-stone band, as large as possible. I want the carat weight to be spread across the 5 stone vs in an eternity...

I'd buy a 5, 7, or 9 stone band of the biggest cwt $4000 would buy. I've always thought I should have gone this route over the solitaire one that I did choose. I'd wear it with a plain band or possibly carved or engraved band, but that would be it for me. ;))

Then I would go for the largest OEC I could afford and put it in a simple setting. Here's a gorgeous one from Old World Diamonds: http://www.oldworlddiamonds.com/inv_details.php?ID=405&SHAPE=EU&PAGE=19 I might go with rose gold for that color diamond...depends what it looks like IRL!

Pretty! have you ever seen a diamond in that color before? I wish I could see one in person.

I'd get an old cut (or colored stone) and set it in a chunky bezel. Or, I'd get a stack of hammered/mixed texture high karat gold bands-some with diamonds and mix and match. I'd either commit to one piece, or I'd try to get as much versatility as I could from a stack.

I don't know if I've seen a Q but I've seen several lower colored OECs (I would say at least L/M/N) and I love them! There's a jewelry store going out of business near me and they had a few pretty rings with OECs. Their sale prices weren't fantastic though...I might go back when it's closer to their closing date and see if there are any true deals to be had!

Ditto. I would look to buy second hand an OEC or OMC and put it in a simple setting- most bang for your buck in an "E-ring" style while still classy and beautiful

Another JBEG fan here, though I'd be torn between:

a) this gorgeous channel-set asscher band at 2.45 tcw - http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.c...r-Cut-Eternity/13622724_GEWxe#994076238_KzzTn

and

b) this equally nummy in a totally different fashion band of bezel-set french cuts: http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.c...iamondBands/12795623_y3NkU#1405984888_Dn7shHL

Either way, at 4K, I'd vote for an eternity band, regardless of which style I settled on, over a solitaire or a five-stone band. I'm size-queen enough that I know I'd feel the urge to upgrade if I went with the solitaire, and somehow five-stone bands just aren't three-dimensional enough for me.

Heck, me being me, I'd probably go for the best band of rubies I could find ....

Buccellati, perhaps? http://cgi.ebay.com/1980s-Buccellat...10600?pt=Designer_Jewelry&hash=item27bd50c0c8

Or http://cgi.ebay.com/BUCCELLATI-DIAM...77079?pt=Designer_Jewelry&hash=item19c36b6277

Immediate gratification, I'd get that cushion band from JBEG. If I had time, I'd wait for a deal for something with a centerstone.

Love love love it. I would like even darker. I say some "chapagne" diamonds once and thought they look divine.

I think I would go with the biggest asscher or carre-cut eternity I could get in rose gold. But I'm sure I'd change my mind tomorrow. A really warm OEC, tranny or OMC in rose gold sounds equally yummy.

A gorgeous colored stone in a great diamond setting - big look, pop of color and sparkle. Perfect!
