I love my current ring which came in under 3K, which is version of a 5 stone graduated band. So I would vote for that first.

If I did it differently, I would get an engagement ring with the nicest biggest sapphire in my price range, in a setting with two diamonds on either side.

not saying this exact ring, but this kind of idea (hopefully with a larger sapphire and smaller diamonds :cheeky: )

That's a good question. I'd be tempted to spend it on an engagement ring but I might pick a band instead. There are several bands I'd love to get but I *think* I'd choose the Jazz band from Tiffany. The brand name doesn't mean anything to me but I haven't found a replica that I like as much.

My answer might change later though. :cheeky:

... on an engagement ring or wedding band (you are already married), what would you buy to get the most BLING for your buck?

Since I'm already married, I would get atroop's WF Uternity band made with ten pointers. Yum!

I would have gotten this asscher cut e band from JbEG...and I actually almost did!!! I posted a very similar topic on another forum on PS except my title was "If you had $3500 to spend..." I ended up going with another choice but I still crave this band!

So I'm going to guess that means the question is on behalf of someone you know and not you...BUMMER! Although I guess I like people to get diamonds whether I "know" them or not! :cheeky:

I don't know about "soon". Have you seen how long it takes me to make decisions??

I'd find something second hand with stone I liked then have a setting made for it. Or if I was bored with my setting, I'd reset.

I'd get a five stone... but have all the stones be the same size. That's just my personal preference though. I feel like five stones command more presence that way because your eye isn't drawn into the center, you focus more on the whole piece. There have been some lovely graduated bands, but I just thought I'd throw in another opinion/option ;-).

Kcoursolle's five stone with 5 .31 pointers. She is a size 4.5 so the ring size is a bit different but the visual impact is amazing!

Mrsv's amazing Leon five stone: total weight 1.68, so around .33ct each. Size 6-6.5 and still has AMAZING presence.

Can you tell I've been fantasizing about five stones lately  ? I would totally wear one instead of a "traditional" e-ring.

If I didn't have an e-ring, I would get a five stone or larger band to wear.

I think a 5 stone is a great option - I can't remember the last time I wore my solitaire.
I wear my 'Amelia' ring every day now, 5 stone asscher band. It's a really nice look on its own, or occasionally with my wedding band. it can stand alone very happily though.

I personally would also go estate jewelry shopping or buy bigger from the secondary market! i never buy retail and most times I buy estate or pawn to get the biggest bang for the buck!

I made my five stone three and a half years ago and it cost me more than $4K back then. You'd just have to kick in a little more money DD.

Oops, my apologies. I got all carried away with being excited about Dreamer's potential project. I work for a vendor and PS rules don't let us post photos of our own pieces here. I shouldn't have mentioned it, sorry.

A five stone band is a great look for everyday though, whatever the cut!
