Hello fellow Pricescopers...

I''ve been considering ''investing'' in a gift for myself in the way of some diamond studs. I''ve read many of the posts on here regarding studs, but would like some feedback on what you would get for $10k in the way of studs.

I would like to purchase from somewhere that has a lifetime trade-up policy. I know that I can go lower in color and clarity in studs that I might have been inclined to when selecting my engagement diamond which is an F VS2.

What are your suggestions?...

Thank you!

we spent under $10k because we had a broker at the time who sold to us around 1/2 the price of a B&M store. But I got just over 2cttw F VS1''s {if I remember correctly} in platinum martinis.
One of my favorite purchases so far!

I like the stones that facetfire suggested, but I would send them off to leon for some custom made martini settings and pave jackets

I would look for J or K/ L clean I1 diamonds, as large and well cut as possible, have them set in martinis - yum, if these earrings were for me! For a nice middleground I would say H colour upwards according to preference, clean SI2 clarity and well cut of course, for max bang for the 10k bucks!

I have fallen in love with (and decided I want a pair ;) of yellow diamond earrings with white diamond jackets. Diamonds by Lauren has a nice tradeup policy and for $10K you could get a VERY nice pair.

HI:

I agree. But it is a matter of preference to be sure. I own a pair of AGS0, Ideals, H & A, branded (Cut by INfinity from Wink & Cut by Tolkolsky from GOG), I1 clarity stones in my earrings 2.11ctw. They are H & I color and superb sparklers! I cannot see the inclusions without a loop...

Here is an example of what I mean....

=355&src=loupe:2o8h065d]http://www.craftedbyinfinity.com/index.php?pid=63&lang=eng&sid[]=355&src=loupe

OR these and you would have enough left over for a pendant--perhaps one of the above links?

I would do some .90 to .95ct''ers E-F / SI, definetly in martini style pave'' halos. ...Definietely would have to be colorless for me.

Thanks, Sputat, for your suggestion. I was wondering if someone would get around to mentioning the GOG H&A stud program. I had my eye on these and e-mailed Jon about them. Unfortunately, they''ve been sold...

Thanks for all of the ideas everyone - keep them coming!
