I already have a 2+ carat diamond ring, but cannot wear it right now... If you could only have ONE ring and it HAD to be UNDER 5 thousand - what would you get? A small solitaire? An eternity band? something pave with lots of little sparkles? A 5 stone ring? Pick ONE thing!!

5 stone or eternity!!

I think a smaller solitaire might be disappointing to wear after getting used to a 2ct, and once you're back and wearing your ROCK again it won't see much use, and that would be a pity!

you could get a gorgeous band, though

I would go with an eternity band. It would give you lots of sparkle to get you through until you can wear your big rock!

An OMC or OEC solitaire

I voted for an eternity band. It's a great look on it's own, and once you get back can wear it with your ring. It's a classic!!

Are you going to buy something over there?? I know you are missing your gorgeous ering... How's it going?? Do you like there? How are your kids?? What is life like there?? Sorry if that's too many Q's. Just am curious!!

Five Stone all the way!--- I just find myself too worried with eternity band, to really enjoy it

so I go slightly bigger bling nice finger coverage, with no worries underneath

I voted eternity band. Lots of sparkle!

Hmm...I voted for multi row pave ring. That''s probably what I''d choose if I already had a significant e-ring - it''ll make a fantastic replacement ring for now, and a gorgeous RHR for later.

A five-stone... and I really hope that I''ll own one some day!!!

I had originally thought I''d go with a 5 stone or a eternity band. Then I remembered the recent thread LFVDOLL started about her right hand wedding band. It''s perfect if you want a blingy ring AND it''s less that $4000! Here''s the link to her thread about the Carriere 5 Row Diamond Ring. I just love it! Sooooo blingy!

A colored stone ring!!

Here''s a pic she posted. I hope she doesn''t mind.
It''s so YUMMY!

I think I could live out the rest of my days content with a big haloed pink diamond.

Big Ditto!!!

I vote with the pave band group, probably because I already have the other things and the band would make a nice RHR.

I voted for the 5 stone,

But if I could vote for 2 I would say a 5 stone or eternity, depending on how much bling you want.

I voted eternity band but of course I would not turn up my nose at any of the above.

A 5 stone for me.

I vote for an eternity band. I have an eternity band of bezeled RBs, and I love wearing it by itself when I can''t wear my e-ring. It''s sparkly and pretty, but subtle, and the bezels keep the diamonds nice and safe.

Um . . .small solitaire. Looks like I''m the minority. I''m just into simplicity

I vote five stone all the way!!!

eternity would be second place.

I voted for a 5-stone ring but I think either a 5-stone or a 3-stone ring would be practical for everyday wear, but still plenty blingy.

I found this:

It's under your budget, so perhaps you could buy one of their gorgeous eternity bands to pair up with it. The combo would be quite substantial and blingy indeed!

If you're not too keen on that, have a look at other antique/ estate sites. Prices are very good now and there're loads of really good pieces out there. I myself am tempted to get something from one of these sites, but am saving up for a "secret" project!

(Oh, just a word of warning, don't have the ring sent to you in China. They'd make you jump through hoops to get it. I'd suggest that get it next time you're back in the States; or if you have any friend/ relative visiting you, I'd ask have the ring sent to them and ask them to carry it to you in China)

5 stone!

5-stone. IMO, it''ll be a more sizeable piece of bling plus more comfortable to wear.

oh man - you guys didn''t make it easier for me lol

Here''s what I got the quote for before I left - I consider it "other" but it is still an eternity ring of sorts. I know my photo shop is horrid, but you get the idea. With like 3-5 pointers, not sure exactly.

I have thought about getting a regular like shared prong ring (to wear alone) and have ever-so-slightly toyed with the 5 stone (but admit it would give me good bling for the buck).

I probably wouldn''t do another solitaire but it could be nice - I''d like to have an aca quality pendant someday - could get a ring now and move it later I suppose but I''d also like to have a diamond band of some sort that I could keep forever. If I were to reset my diamond I would have a plain band to go with it and if I don''t reset my diamond it will remain stand alone. So no matter what this ring I buy "now" is - it will be a stand alone ring. At least that''s my thought now lol

I want one of each!!!

I''d call WF and order myself an Annette U-ternity band. I love the look of ten pointers going all around the finger, and it''s only $3500 in my size, which would mean money leftover for another project!

I vote Eternity band...

I''d probably do an eternity (well, probably a half eternity) band. Wait, wouldn''t that end up being a five stone ring then? Okay, that''s what I''d do.

I'd buy this spessarite from Richard Wise and have Brian Gavin set it like he did for this yellow sapphire.

I'd halo a small diamond to make it look much bigger and blingier.

Halos can do great things for a smaller stone.
