If you could copy a PSer's ring....

Yssie's! I'm not sure if I would ever copy it because it might be too adventurous for me (I am a low-risk person, my ring is a simple RB on a pave band), but if I had a chance to borrow a PSer's ring for a day it would be Yssie's without a doubt! I've visited (and admired) her ring thread more number of times than I have anyone's...including my own!

Yes! That is my dream ring too! Now that you mention it, I am certain. Whenever I try on fakies I am drawn to rings with those proportions. I would feel like a movie star with a ring like that!

Kama would you want a honkin' big center too in your dream ring or would you really perhaps one day consider making a three stone of your current diamond?

The bigger, the better! Although it's highly unlikely in my real life. Hubster wants to upgrade my centre stone for our 5 year anniv but I doubt I'd want to go any bigger. I already feel so ostentatious with my 1.5ct - you probably feel the same living in Canada. You just don't see many big stones and I already get weird looks and comments about mine now.

But in my far-from-reality world I'd be rocking a massive carbon block!

Risingsun's ring (before her upgrade to halo) inspired mine and I couldn't be happier.

Without a doubt it would be Art Noveau's Mahenge spinel ring set by Leon Mege:
file.jpg

Sigh...so gorgeous. Of course, Art Noveau is in no danger from me, I couldn't afford a spinel like that let alone the setting from Leon!

I really like Kenny's octavia ring for his partner.
As much as I'd love to be able to pull off the look - my baby hands will be overwhelmed.

Boston Jeff's ring is very nice also. Love the claws on that rock!

Arrggghh, can't choose just one, in no particular order:

Snoopers EC

Kenny's Octavia

Darling EC

Ellens aqua

LaurenTPs

and lots and lots more

:twirl:

LOL! No one comments on my diamond ever! I think I have bigger hands than you so mine looks less ostentatious, or else people are just quietly judging without saying anything :cheeky: You are right though about never seeing larger diamonds. I am on a University campus day in day out and you N_E_V_E_R see large rocks. I did once see a really awesome pave antique style halo ring that I wish I had asked to see up close, but it was not appropriate in the context (job interview ;)) )

One ring that I find myself searching repeatedly - which I can no longer find with the new search feature :( is - Carolin or Caroline? I always have to do a few searches to refresh who it is....but its an enormous asscher 3 stone, for whatever reason - that ring will forever be "the most amazing" ring ever to me...

I ADORE ddcha's cushion halo set from ERD. *LOVE*

There are so many gorgeous rings here, but Surfgirl's came to mind first. I still adore that ring even though I haven't seen a pic of it in years, it seems.

You know, I never got the fascination with her ring, but if I could snatch that center stone I would in a heartbeat. I get little flutters when I think of her amazing transitional.

I saw some pics of it long ago in lurkerdom, and I don't get it either. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous, but with all the amazing designs on this site, it's strange to me that it's the one that keeps coming up. Maybe it's just not my style. Nice stone though.

I wonder if we aren't all drawn to a bit because of the drama? It's one of my favs, I do love those older cut stones! But I think the way she reacted and having all the photos pulled just made more people stand up and take notice of it...and save the photos to their computers like I did.

I couldn't identify just one, but...

I guess I'm just drawn to the well-set, naked :naughty: solitaire. The first ring that came to mind is Coati's James Meyer solitaire, and then I saw Boston Jeff's Leon Mege...

I'd be happy with either of those (and at least a dozen others)!

I would take Windowshopper's ring, but would have an Octavia as the central stone instead of an emerald cut. I would ask The Almighty if he could tweak the setting to have the Octavia sit up a bit higher. This is tbe ring.

Great choices everyone! Does kroshka have a thread for her cushion, and can anyone link it for me? It's to die for!

Haha - living in K-town doesn't help either, does it now?! I don't feel out of place in downtown Toronto, I do get a lot of comments but nothing that makes me feel self-conscious. But I work outside the city and I'm always getting funny looks and comments from my managers or clients, such as "Oh, it sure must be nice to have a kid free lifestyle. How else can anyone afford your ring/clothes/purse" :knockout: None of my stuff is showy, so it's obviously passive-aggressive behavior.

DD, I wish there was a way to look you up. It would be so fab to go out for a drink with you sometime!

ts44: I am flattered that you chose my spinel ring. You are welcomed to make a copy any time.

kama, I don't live in K-town anymore! I am on the west coast now. But hippies don't like bling, so I think they don't even notice ::) I'll tell ya, don't miss Southern Ontario one little bit  But if I am back in that neck of the woods maybe we can try to have a GTG in TO.

Coatimundi's, no doubt.

Tac, I don't think I've ever seen your rings, they're beautiful!

Seriously that ring is like sparkly candy!

ARGH, only one?! I think it would have to be bebe's work of art

Failing that, KristyDarling's incredible e-ring would do very nicely :lickout: And Yssie's 3-stone, YUM!!

Aaaaaaand Kroshka's amazing rock!

Well I used Walter's fiance's ering as inspiration for my own.

I adore boston jeff's ring-it's absolutely gorgeous. Also Musey's ring is beautiful.

Well Wintotty's ring has gone straight to the top of my wish list. I didn't include her photo in my little montage below as she's had all her images pulled. But it is such a recent and instant show stopper, you all know which one I'm talking about - right?

Next on Gailey's copy wish list are those below. I do think even though pictures get posted on a public forum, it is polite to ask if the originator minds their ring being copied. I know some people don't think this is important, but it's a courtesey, and it's just what I do.

Gracious Gailey, I am flattered. I'm not sure if my spinel setting "started them all," although the split-shank-tapering-into-one feature wasn't in Leon's catalogue before I specified it. I'm happy to share (recently, I helped out a PSer who liked one of my settings), but would appreciate a wee bit of courtesy as my little tweaks are what make my rings feel special to me.

harriet, I love your french cut band and a few months ago tried to search for it... do you have the link to the thread? I would really appreciate it!

Catmom's. All of her jewelry - the ring, the earrings, everything she has. Timeless pieces.
