Hello! I am new to the antique and vintage jewelry world. I have heard about the antique jewelry shows in multiple places, such as NYC, miami, vegas etc. As I newbie I am considering to go to one sometime this year or next year, but I know I can only go to one. So here is the question: which one should I go?

I also wonder if the prices are better in these shows? I have been following vendors online or on IG and the prices surprised me (most of the time).

I appreciate it a lot for your suggestions!

I'm dying to go to the Miami show one day! Maybe ask in the antique and vintage forum?

The Vegas antique show is trade only as an FYI.

I would be happy to tag along to anything of any PSers choosing

But i have something if i could i would go back in time and go again

In 1998 an old warehouse was reopened up somewhere in Wellington having been shut up for decades
it was full of brand new never worn now old art deco fashion jewlery
but the well made stuff
unfortunately it was just before i was awear it was all coming back into fashion
I went to look at it at the overseas terminal but i had no spare cash to spluge
I think they auctioned it off

@CHRISTY-DANIELLE @Resonance.Of.Life Thanks a lot for the information!
Is the Miami show you mentioned "The original Miami Beach Antique show"?

@Daisys and Diamonds That was such a great opportunity! It is all about timing - the right pieces show up when you are ready to buy, then that's the piece meant for you :0

I have gone to the Original Miami Beach Antique show - I can't say about prices as they seem to be about the same as online. You're not going to get vendor/trade pricing anywhere unless you are trade yourself.

But yeah- the Vegas Antique show is trade only.

I have been to the original Miami Beach antique show about 7 or 8 times. Didn’t go this year because masks were required. I have asthma and can’t breath with a mask all day. I was bummed that I couldn’t attend. It takes me a day and a half to see everything, sometimes stopping to try on a piece. I have never run into a pushy vendor which still surprises me. I feel that the pricing is fair market…no great deals. Cash is king and that will usually get you a lower price. You name it and you will see it. My husband has been x2 with me And bought me a pair of amethyst and diamond earrings and a very beautiful antique pear with a DBTY necklace. I should bring him more often. There are vendors there for lunch. I think I remember that no coolers are allowed. My opinion is that it is definitely worth the trip. I call the day “look and drool”. I hope you find my info helpful and factual.

One more thing..Saturday is not a good day as many of the Jewish jewelers have their booths closed.

@dju2 Thank you so much! I definitely need some look and drool days too! I can't wait to go!

this is great advice. I remember the first trade show I went to, I started on a saturday and thought "where is everyone??"

I also wonder, since @dju2 mentioned that cash is king, that is it easy to get cash at the show place? I would feel unsafe to take cash all over the place otherwise.

I have always brought my own cash and keep it close under my clothes. There are guards and police present. Never felt unsafe. No machines to get large amounts of cash at the show which is late january and some years early February.
