Bling related: upgrade my ring (I love the setting but I'd love larger stones), and buy an OEC and a solitaire setting.

Non-bling related: pay off our mortgage and our student loans, buy new cars, and take my dream vacation to Hawaii.

Gorgeous stone.

If I had the money, I'd buy a holiday house. Everyone needs a holiday house.

Buy my mom a DBTY just like mine (15 pointers in handmade yellow gold bezels from IDJ). She loves it.

Oh yes, paying off student loans and mortgage would be extraordinarily awesome too!

Where would this holiday house be? My favorite vacation spot is a villa in Tuscany so I'd be tempted to buy there. But it's such a hassle to get there I'm not sure we'd go enough to be worth it. Might have to go with a place in Cozumel as the diving is incredible and I can fly direct. These are fun dilemmas to imagine!

Good question. There are so many wonderful places it could be. Aitutaki. New Orleans. Murren.

Maybe I need a host of holiday houses. :naughty:

I had to google both Aitutaki and Murren. Two places now added to my must see list!

Perhaps Ps should start a vacation home share program...

Oh gosh, my list could be long! Bling related - I'd buy a large OEC and set it in a simple, platinum setting.

Non bling related - I'd re-do our 1950s pink tile bathroom (yuck!), add a second bathroom to our lake house, hire a cleaning lady, and take my dream trips to Fiji, African Safari, and Alaskan Cruise :)

Ooh, big house in a part of London I can't afford, with a long drive and half an acre of land. :appl:

Never gonna happen unless we win the lottery. Which we dont actually play. :D

PSers, remember me in your wills! :cheeky: (where's the begging emoticon?)

I'd also get 2.5 ctw ACA diamond studs (H/VS2) set in a low basket setting. And then I'd get these SS drops like Phoenix's:

I once had a job that inspired the same feelings. So tough because you love the work and many if the people but it just doesn't add up.

I'd also get my mom 1 ctw diamond dangle leverback earrings in yellow gold. I'd have the round diamonds bezeled to look a little more like NS ovals. I think it would be glorious on her.

Buy an old beautiful house fallen on hard times & restore its dignity & beauty, bind it tight w/covenants, sell it, & do it again with another.

Give a ton of money to animal & preservation orgs.

Get this:

and this....

and this...

...and throw myself some parties so I had a place to wear them. I'd put this in the center of the dinner table:

RB I have that exact same diamond saved to my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so Bling related- Get a huge blue saphire and/ or emerald and set into a gorgeous pave setting. Something that is really a statement maker (see inspiration shot below).

Non bling related- there are so many
-Have a full time nanny, chef and house keeper...I feel like I can never keep up with everything
-Buy our dream home or at least put down a sizeable down payment

Oh, me too. Definitely.

And I would love to start a foundation to support causes I'm passionate about (free healthy school lunches, the arts, breast feeding support for moms, fixing foster care, quality public schools...).

I would be oh so happy with any of those! As Enerchi says, it would definitely make me a better person. :) But if I could only afford one domestic helper, I would get someone to come at 7pm to straighten the house after the kids go to bed. That is my fantasy. Time without kidos is so precious I'd love to spend it doing so many fun or useful things - not organizing toys and cleaning baby food off the floor!

Bling related - Buy a big honkin OEC or antique cushion in an ornate solitaire setting. I'd also get a top-color emerald in a plain shank chunky halo. Finish buying all the other smaller items on my wish list.

Non-bling related - Finish our basement (or just buy a whole new bigger house). I'd also do lots more traveling.

If I had the money... I would buy a freaking diamonds diamonds diamonds! One in every color, shape, size, clarity, cut combo! Who knows if I will ever feel like today is a 5.4ct OMB G VVS1 day! Or the next day could be a 5.5ct OMB H VS2 day! Slight difference but different! Hey, I've gots da money!

But first thing I would do is everything I can to fight animals abuse. That is my number one priority. It's always been my number one priority...

Oh, and the more and more I hear about Perth, it makes me wanna move there. So if I had the money, that's where I would be.

Tried on some studs today for fun and was shocked to find 1.25 carats each too big. 1 carat-ers were just right. Sooooo right. :)

I'm often torn between saving for the big someday ring or finishing off my list of less expensive goodies I'd love first.

What kind of ornate solitaire settings do you like?
