Hi Guys

my dang upgrade budget just keeps increasing. I saw a 2.5ct Tiffany setting in Australia (shout out to us Aussies), died, went to heaven then slapped back to reality when I saw the $90,000 price tag. :hand: :doh:

I want around 2.5ct (can be 2.4 to get just under that magic half mark but I'm a total size whore :lickout: :drool: ) G,H eye clean SI1 or the elusive eye clean SI2 in a vatche u113. Just to state up front I don't need the top 0.2% of the super duper SUPER ideals.
I do want a dang good ideal cut but I don't need perfection for the sake of perfection. (Nothing against those who do).

Now IDJ - I know I can get something bigger at IDJ and have seen some PS users who have had some insane bling but then have read about some awful experiences. I can't afford to have that issue which is why I'm leaning more towards GOG but they seem to be the most expensive of the bunch.

The thing is I'm wondering if it's all because they haven't dealt with Yekutiel or if maybe IDJ stepped up their game and the bad experiences were years ago .... I think to be safe I'd probably not go there but just wanted some advice :loopy:

Also how does Brilliantly engaged work do they have Sarin/IS? wondering if they are more a BN or similar to IDJ.

Thanks guys :)

I would give IDJ a chance, give them a call and tell them what you are looking for and your budget. I did that and Luann made it happen. I would never hesitate to buy from them, I had nothing but excellent service and communication constant even though it was Valentines week for them.

I've bought ten or more things from them over the years and I'm doing two more projects with them in the coming weeks. I've known the family for years and they are nice, honest, upstanding people who happen to be very VERY good at what they do. I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.

Here's a si2 that may be eye clean. I dont believe they'll do any more than ideal scopes. But I dont think absolutely need that

Hi - I have a post in SMTB about my great experiences with IDJ last year. Both my mum and I bought replacement e-rings from Yekutiel. Yekutiel was really happy to go through a number of potential stones with us to make sure he could meet our requirements, and was very patient despite our rejecting a number of them for different reasons! We're both incredibly happy with the quality of the diamonds and settings along with the price we paid. I'd be very happy to recommend them to you.

I haven't had any dealings with BE but hear good things about them and depending what kind of setting I end up deciding on, I may well be giving them a call.

Good luck with your search.

I have never purchased from BE but have bought several items from IDJ. On the few times I've been lucky enough to visit NYC, I have stopped in, met the gang and have always had a PERFECTLY awesome experience and absolutely excellent service. I have referred them to a few people in my "real life" (as in - not diamond people or know the first thing about them!) and have never hesitated to speak positively about them.

Good luck in your decision and how exciting to be upgrading!

I am sorry that I can't be in Vegas because I've wanted to cross paths with you! We've both shopped with Yekutiel and Ilya repeatedly and usually just miss each other. Have a good time at the GTG and take lots of pics for us who can't be there! Safe travels.

Hi! Thanks for the information. I can spot an I color a mile away and I'm even color sensitive at G, H (without having another diamond to compare to) but I'm comfortable at the G, H at the lowest. I'm not looking to buy just yet, more researching.

I asked JA if they still do IS and they do :).

Thanks for the help! Do you feel they would be patient with someone as picky as I? I'm not super picky just your typical PS diamond obsessed individual. haha.

Have you been elsewhere and if so comparison? Thanks again

Email IDJ and ask Luann what they can find for you. If they do find you something remember to ask them to fill in the correct AUSTFA declarations and ask them to tape this to the front of the box AND keep a copy themselves in case it goes missing to pay 10% import duties instead of 15% so you save 5%.

The Aussie branch of BlueNile (yes same company as BlueNile in the US);

http://www.bluenile.com/au/

Jorgia over in Perth;

http://www.jogiadiamonds.com.au/

Might be two other valid options for you.

This would probably be my choice and I think if you asked they might consider (the owner is a lovely member on here) separating the centre diamond from the setting so it would be a bit less;

I was also recently talking to a Vic. lady who has the inventory from a jewellery shop she wants to sell in Australia (her jeweller husband died and they closed a shop) I don't know specifically what she has but she does have some diamonds. If you want me to find out more my contact is on Loupetroop under the same name as here.
