Hi there I'm trying to find out the maker on a piece of jewellery I've purchased. Can't see and marks but it's very well made so I'm guessing one of the main makers. Does anyone recognise it?

The stone would probably be called cat's eye (or chatoyant) aquamarine, but the question is whether it's natural or synthetic. Most of the big-name manufacturers would use some sort of maker's mark, as well as a metal purity mark. If the piece is sterling silver (.925 or higher) there's a possibility that it's Native American - the design on the back of each segment is not unlike the stylized flower or squash blossom that might be found on a concho belt. It's equally likely, though, that the necklace is costume jewelry that uses Native American jewelry motifs and design elements. A reputable jeweler should be able to tell you what metal was used in this necklace. It it's not a precious metal, you might want to post your question in boards dedicated to vintage costume jewelry.

Good luck!
