It is my mother's first engagement diamond from my biological father. He died in a car accident when I was 8 months old so I never really knew him. She remarried when I was young and my step father has been my dad.
I have a sentimental attachment to this ring probably because it's from my father that I never knew.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's cut very well. It's an oval, I'm guessing about a 1/2 carat. I do not know a lot about ovals but the table seems kind of dull. Almost like a piece of glass. The edges are fiery and lively.
Should I find a matching diamond and have them made into earrings? Should I make it a pendant? Should I make it RHR? Should I have it re-cut beforehand?
Any and all ideas are welcome! Right now it's just sitting in a box.
