I'm thinking about getting a blingy wedding band for when my finger swells, but I don't want to spend too much on it. Only criteria is it needs to be platinum as my skin is very sensitive, which unfortunately rules out a lot of options. Any ideas?

5-7-9 stone?

Whats your budget? We dont know what too much is!

@sincityfinds on IG has had a few lovely very blingy bands. She posts daily at 5pm EST.

Here’s a few of her past pieces for inspiration.

These are gold but she also gets platinum pieces.

Platinum. Swoon!

I have 1ctw 7 and 10? stone rings already, so I would probably look for a 5 stone or something different. I'd be open to a 5 stone, each with a halo. I am also considering a 2.5ctw+ Lightbox 5 stone.

I don't know what my budget is, ideally less than $2K, but I'm open to spending more if I really like it.

Here's an idea. I will keep my eyes out for more options...

Someone on PS has this gorgeous Lightbox ring, with 4 1ct stones. I’m sure it would run quite a bit over $2k but I fell off my chair when I saw that beauty!! I’d guess it would probably be double your budget so I’m hesitant to recommend that but it was one of the most stunning rings I’d seen!!!

A lightbox 2.5ctw+ 5 stone (Or 2ctw 4 stone) would also be beautiful and in the general benchmark?

Not sure how you feel about Art Deco style...

Yes, I was just admiring the Lightbox 4ctw ring! I definitely could spend more and do something similar, but I wonder if 4 1ct stones would be "too much" in terms of fitting them comfortably or maybe too blingy??

Would you be pairing it with your engagement ring, or this is an alternate ring to your current set? That wasn’t entirely clear to me.

I don’t really believe in “too blingy” lol as my username probably gives away, but I do like it when jewelry looks balanced. I wouldn’t do the 4 1ct style ring if you were pairing with your ering I think it would dwarf the ering. But if you were going to wear it alone as a combo ering-WB, then I would definitely go for it. I think it would look amazing.

I would wear this as an alternate stand alone ring. My finger size fluctuates a lot, so my plan is to get this one a bigger size.

I just played around with my Lightbox 2ctw studs and the 4 stone might work...hmmm...do I want a 4 1ct ring...?? Is it worth it? Will it look blingy, but still low key?

Why not photoshop it on to your finger to give yourself an idea? Powerpoint has some image editing tools that can help you do that if you want to try. Take a picture of your hand with one 1ct stone nestled in between your fingers, and then you can basically paste a line of them across your ring finger to see if it would work on you.

I love the idea of a really BLINGY ring, but that’s me. An alternative option is a thicker ring but I also feel like if your fingers are swollen a thick ring is uncomfortable. I would definitely do a 4/5/7 stone ring because the shank doesn’t have to be super thick on those.

Another option would be to get an alternate engagement ring instead. I really like this setting. I may be allergic to the 18K yellow gold, but could try it...

But I do like the simplicity of the 4 stone...

Anyone have a pic- this ring sounds amazing!

That’s really pretty, but it would be substantially more expensive, I think, especially to get it custom ordered in platinum.

If you’d like a cluster maybe looking for a preloved cluster ring would be a better bet!

I'm so torn, I have the 4 Lightbox 1ct pendants in my shopping cart, ready to buy. It would be a fun project and pick me up in these COVID times. But my best friend thinks it's a waste of money...which I sort of agree with...

How difficult is to return to Lightbox?

I do think a cluster ring would be beautiful...

I think it's a lot of money for something with little resale value. I'm not saying that to discriminate against lab diamonds, as I have owned a pair of lightbox earrings. However, when I went to sell those, I ended up discounting them over 50% off the original purchase price just to move them.

Honestly, I think I ended up being lucky that I was able to sell them for that price. If this is something that you really are not totally committed to I think you're going to spend a good deal of money for something that does not have much resale value.

I think it's a fairly standard process? If I went ahead with the project, I would only return if there was a lot of variation in the specs.
