Good day to everyone

Apologies for this I'm sure it must have been asked a 1000 times already,i just can't seem to find a thead!i have finally decided to pop that question!!So i have started my research on diamonds and metals etc.And my plan is to buy a loose stone and have it set, that way i get exactly what i want! And my word there so much more to consider than just the 4 C's!In light of this info i would like to arm myself with the tools,to make the best decision i can make as an amateur buyer! So my question is which is simpler to understand between the ideal and Aset scope, being a total amateur ??do you recommend any of these scopes to be used once off for one stone?

thank you for taking the time to read and help out.
enjoy your day further

What kind of setting? A plain band or something with diamonds? We'll need to know approximately how much the setting will cost to determine what will be available for the diamond.

As for compensating on color, what's the lowest you're comfortable with? G? J? M? There's a huge range that will determine what people find for you. For clarity, does compensating mean that you're ok with it not being "eye clean"?

Lastly, for performance, do you care more about brightness, fire, or scintillation or do all three matter equally?

im looking at a solitaire setting with a tapering band something classic.as for color i think J is the lowest i would like to go.and for Clarity maybe as low as SI1.And performance balanced between all three.what do you think?do you advisor otherwise?

I really like this solitaire - it has a nice taper and flow to it. I personally would go for 14k and put the majority of your budget into the center diamond: https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...ess-engagement-ring-by-jeff-cooper-item-54211
This one is also nice but no taper, but at 2mm it's still thin: https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...loe-engagement-ring-by-jeff-cooper-item-54214

It looks like you could get close to a carat:

As long as you don't mind a warm diamond at certain angles, J will be fine. Personally I'd stick with specifying "eye clean" at an SI level; I don't like seeing any inclusions at all, and they impact how the diamond performs.

how can one tell if a diamond is eye clean? e.g. on james allen?

If it's VS2 or above you're usually safe (but be more concerned if there are inclusions on the table). If it's SI+, you'll need to ask the vender (ie: James Allen) directly if the stone is eye clean.
