What would be a good degree pavilion angle so I know what to look out for? Any other red flags I should keep in mind?40.1 degreeu pavilion angle is not good for a ring and makes for weird images.
They are computer generated based on scan data except the last and even dc has issues with these angles.Run away for a ring.
Stick to these proportions (and stones that score under 2 on the HCA)What would be a good degree pavilion angle so I know what to look out for? Any other red flags I should keep in mind?
Stick to these proportions (and stones that score under 2 on the HCA)
Table: 54-57
Depth: 60-62.4
Crown: 34-35
Pavillion: 40.6-40.8
Anything scoring under 2 should be considered. The one you posted here is a 60/60 style stone (if you search the forum there are tons of discussions about them). The general idea is that they will give lots of white sparkle vs colored fire that a traditional Ideal cut would have. That said, this 60/60 looks excellent in terms of performance (as per the gcal report images).![]()
Can I ask another question? Might sound silly but I’m confused about the HCA tool. I noticed that diamonds certified by GCAL were more expensive so I thought perhaps it’s because they were better quality in terms of their standards. The certificate looks like it includes idealscope type images as well so I popped this one into the HCA tool and got a score of 1.3. Is that still too low? Because I then referred back to your helpful guideline and this one seems to be rather off.
