Ideal scope images help

Hello! Newbie here

Looking at buying a diamond online and I don’t really know if what I am looking at is good or not. I am happy with the specs and it’s given me a HCA score of 0.8.
Can you help? Do these images look good or not?

This looks very strange to me, and not ideal at all. I can't tell what's going on exactly, but it looks odd. what are the specs? Do you have real-world photos?

Oh shame. Thank you for having a look. This is a lab diamond so certified by IGI so I guess the specs are give and take maybe?

What are the crown/Pavillion angles? Something about it just looks odd. And it also looks kind of hazy in that picture. We can't really discuss lab stones here, if you post on the MMD sub forum people will be happy to help!

basically use the "report concern" button at the bottom of your original post, and then there will be a button to say why you are reporting it. Then you can ask the mods to move it to the man made diamonds sub forum. I'll also report it now for you.

Hello! Yes, sorry I started a new thread for a new pick! I purchased this one. They couldn’t get me any ideal scope or Aset images but I decided to take the plunge. Hopefully it’s beautiful when it gets here!

It’s a long read but worth it and some of it can just be glossed over. Long story short...their customer service is terrible. This thread is about somebody else’s experience and they are still working through it.

They have personally over charged me 3 times and then sent me earrings with big defects in the setting. Tread cautiously if you choose to work with them - get everything in writing and ask all the questions. Keep all communications and pay via credit card so you can dispute the charges via your cc company if needed.

I saw that thread after making the purchase.
We have only purchased the diamond and paid in full so if the diamond arrives and I do not like it, it should be very easy to return it as that particular policy is very clear on their site. I probably wouldn’t deal with them again given the bad stories but with the bad stories there are also a lot of non problematic stories where everything went perfectly fine so ‍ for now I can only hope it’s smooth sailing.

It arrived!!! I am very bad at taking photos it seems and haven’t seen it in day light yet so I’m excited for tomorrow. Thoughts? It seems very sparkly. I’m not capturing it very nicely in the photos though.

Pictures are always difficult to assess, and of course are nowhere near as good as your own eyes - the binocular viewing using both eyes brings an added layer over the monocular nature of the camera lens!

Make sure to look at it in a wide range of lighting environments, such as strong sunlight, dappled shade, overcast and cloudy, flat indoor lighting (e.g. uplighters), spotlights, etc., as that will help you assess if it performs well across all potential situations

Thank you, I definitely will before deciding whether to keep it or not. In indoor lighting although it looks a bit dull in the photos it is not dull at all and is quite firey which is what I was after so I’ll see how it performs in different lighting and also if it seems super tinted. I took a gamble with a J as I’ve never seen one in person. No jewellers around me carry anything past a G really. I know I prefer warmer diamonds but just how warm, I don’t know yet!

I’ve always noticed my iPhone XS shows colours differently so that could be why but to my eyes it faces up really white which I was surprised with but on the phone camera it does look tinted which I still love anyway.

I feel happy with it so far so I’ve decided to keep it

Excellent stuff - I'm pleased that you've found one that suits your needs and looks good!

Don't forget to keep it clean in order to maximise its performance - an obvious point, I know but oils from your skin can quickly dull the sparkle!

Your jeweller will (should!) give it a clean with an ultrasonic or similar device before mounting it, so I expect it will look ace when it is set
