I want to pair a 14k white gold eternity band with my new CBI solitaire. I want "ideal" cut stones, and I'm waffling on channel set (is that back in style now?) or fishtail, etc. Which ones from our trusted PS vendors do you love? I have a size 4.5 finger and my stone is 2.12 carats. So I want something on the smaller side so as not to compete with my stone- 2mm or such would be perfect:)

Oh! I also want it to be capable of daily wear, nothing too fragile......

My favorite channel set bands are those produced by T&Co., they are just very smooth with zero gaps between the stones and handle wear fantastically, but they don't come with “ideal” cut meleè. I would at least go to try them out to see if you like the look.

I love my Harmony Band from WF. I had it custom made with 2 pointers, & it packs a punch with the ACA melee, IMHO. It is not channel set, but a fishtail pave set band. IMG_1759.jpg

I have the Tiffany channel set band and really like it. With channel set, you don't have to worry about the girdles of the band eating into your setting. I also like sarahb's band - I am assuming the stones are set in such a way that they don't eat into her setting. That's the biggest concern regarding bands - that and if you are looking for them to sit flush with the engagement ring. Just depends on whether or not the engagement ring has a donut or whatever that will prevent the bands from sitting flush and also the look that you are looking to achieve.

Hope this means that your ring is almost ready and on it's way to you!!!

I bought BGD’s dream band and it’s perfect. I tried on the 2.2mm Tiffany embrace in store and loved that, but it was just a bit too small. The 3mm definitely took away from the 2 carat solitaire for me. Brian Gavins is 2.5 mm with .05 diamonds. It’s so sparkly too. I was very happy when I received it! 4D69EF19-7C6D-4C36-815D-FB17C18FDA82.jpeg DD9763CB-C05A-4708-8FEB-68C0894A6E9F.jpeg

Here is my platinum eternity band from HPD with built in rails (no spacer needed) with their Lux H&A melee. 3mm wide.

Size 4.5 same as you.

My center diamond is 2.18 E-VS1 CBI very close in size to your 2.12 CBI.

Been wearing it daily with my 3 erings.

Something to consider is the "height" or thickness of your solitaire shank and whether you care if your diamond band is the same height or not. It is hard to find a diamond band under 2mm in height.

Melissa found me a channel set stuller option too. I can do heart and arrows melee in it and the price is awesome! Still mulling it over and need to sell my tiffany bands first...

That's the best of both worlds. The performance of HPD Lux H&A melee and the better pricing of Stuller vs custom.

It's not the lux melee but it's hearts and arrows F/VS stones.

Your rings are gorgeous! Are the engagement ring and wedding band the same size? They really look fabulous together!

You should start a SMTB thread on these rings and tell us all about your center stone!

Well thank you! I would guess the solitaire is 2ish mm but I’m not positive. It’s the JA six prong knife edge one. The solitaire is a finger size 4.5 and I got closer to 4.6 or so for the band, so that’s why it’s a tiny bit wider.

I’ve actually returned the solitaire and I’m going with a different vendor for that but I had it for pictures for a bit! :) Once I receive my new one I’ll be sure to post!

My favorite for daily wear is a bead set. I have one in yg from WF and one in platinum from LM. Both are about 0.4 ctw. They are delicate yet robust.

Another vote for bead set! My original wedding band is bead set, platinum, and about 3.5mm, so wider than you are looking for. I find it super comfortable, and it sits extremely close to my finger and is very robust. I prefer the look of it to channel set. In hindsight I think I would have preferred a thinner band paired with my engagement ring, but I have worn this by itself for almost a decade, and it has beautiful presence.

Here is a picture. Not from a trusted PS vendor unfortunately (my local jeweler made it 20 years ago), but I thought you might like to see it.

Following this thread for future reference. All of this info is super helpful!

Does anyone know if any of the super ideal vendors stock lower colored melee, i.e. H-I? When I got my ring a few years back, WF said they could get it for me. However, since it wasn't in house it might end up being more money than the F-G they have. My stones are Is. @soxfan , aren't you in the same boat?

Here’s the Honey 3/4 channel set band alone in low lighting and with my engagement ring in sunlight. It’s very delicate in appearance but feels pretty robust. I wear it 24/7 and it’s extremely comfortable.

I thought I would but then I put my stone next to my G colored 5 stone ring and there is absolutely no difference to my eyes. And those were .30 size stones. So I think I will be ok with smaller stones!

I'm sure the eagle-eyes could tell, but I don't feel like I need lower cut melee in a 2 mm band.
