Idea of customizing BM gifts

Last night I had an idea of doing custom jewelry for my BM for part of their gift. I was wondering if someone can recommend places where I can get loose colored stones? I figure I can find out what they wear the most i.e. ring, necklace, bracelet, etc and go from there. I already know their favorite colors and thought this would be a great gift for having them apart of our wedding.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions so that I can start the process.

There are lots of places to get loose colored stones, but to simplify even further, I'd go to Daniel M and have them source the stones for these:
