Wow. I get some scale on the filters of my fish tanks, but nothing that thick. I'll bet your water hardness is way up there.

I could not work out why i could not get the toilet clean
In desperation i got rubber gloves and an old footy brush and i had a feel around
It wasn't anything unmentionable - it was just lime build up
If i don't clean the bathroom basin everyday it goes yellow

The only good thing is the water tastes ok

FWIW I find those pumice stones (with a plastic handle) are great for removing mineral build up in toilets without scratching the porcelain.

I'm glad it tastes ok, at least. You probably could use a water softener. I'd be ok with not having the ice maker, but like I said previously I love crushed ice. If I have ice in a drink there's no way I don't end up chewing on it, and crushed is much easier on the teeth than full hard cubes.

A water softer is way up the lists of wants
I'd never even heard of one before we moved here

I do like ice cold drinks though
Ive read that ice despensor on drink despensors at places like McDonald's and burger king can be a death wish if it's not cleaned properly

I previously posted that my iVemaler died a couple weeks ago.....well, it has come back to life again! This is the third time it has done that in the past year. It just shuts down by itself and goes on hiatus for a couple weeks. Thank goodness I didn’t go out to get a new fridge, I was close....

Glad it’s working again. If it breaks again would you consider an under the counter (I think that’s what it’s called) ice maker? I hear they are great and this way you wouldn’t have to replace your fridge.
