I really do, but it''s not. It belongs to a friend of mine who can''t post here, but doesn''t mind if I do.

It''s an 80 pt L-VS2 set in yellow gold. The soft yellow tint to this stone makes it look so warm and inviting to the eye I could stare at all day. How I would love the chance to put this alongside my same size D just once.

Here''s the loose stone...

I don''t know all the specs on the stone, but you can tell it''s a beauty. Here it is face on.

The obligatory flower shot.

And one more. I love this ring! Enjoy.

Oh my. It's beautiful!

I'd love to wear an L around, and really get to see how the warmth changes the performance..

It''s a very pretty diamond.

Lovely stone and two great arrow shots.

I'd say you've got a pretty good collection going yourself L_W (I mean not that we can't have more, but you're off to a really good start!).

I agree, those pics are first-rate. That stone is set so perfectly, too.

I''m actually got a large collection, about a dozen nice diamond rings, 4 diamond necklaces and several earrings, but they aren''t over here in the sandbox with me. Some of the stuff I have is common grade cut, some of it''s pretty good, but I just recently discovered truly exceptional cut stones. I''m even thinking about having the stones in a couple of my existing pieces recut, but I''m not sure who to ask about that.

Here are vendors that recut stones: Infinity, Brian Gavin, and Single stone. The going cost seems to be about $350 a carat.

Cool, thanks for the info. Do you happen to know if any of them pro-rate the price for smaller stones? I have 6 or 7 stones in the 5. to .6 range and I''m getting another design idea.....

$350 / ct, based on original ct weight is BGD's price. I had him recut an M to be H&A. It was not a fast process, lol, but the results were worth the wait. I like L & M color. They are light yellow, not "off-white." The tint does give them a different look from very the white diamonds, even if the cut is equivalent. The first light yellow diamond I ever saw was was in a vintage ring with blue sapphire accents. I was pretty well turned off, hehe. But after a while, I started liking the pale yellow tints. I don't think I'd ever go for a fancy yellow, but the "cape" (yellow tinges) are good.

Such a pretty stone/ring...congratulations to your GF!

Your friend has a very pretty ring with a gorgeous stone.

I love the L colour stones myself. I have an L colour center stone in my 3-stone ring with J sidestones. I absolutely love the way it looks different in so many environments.

I made sure my friend got to see this thread and she said thank you to sll of you for the compliments on her beautiful ring. I thank you too.
