cutting another stone.
I started this just about a year ago, then got interrupted by life and all my projects and work languished. For the last 2 months I've been playing catch up and generally getting back on track with things. I needed the dop that this stone was still attached to for a real work project where I am making a camera lens out of some achroite tourmaline I recently got. This stone was about 3/4 done so I just got about to finishing it and reclaimed the dop.
Herewith are too many photos. In some you can glean the intense deep pink body color of the stone, in others the stone completely reflects a warped landscape of sullivan street. Regardless of the performance of the stone, it is dark, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

So I wised up and adjusted the white balance on my camera, as the c axis that this was cut on shows NO brownishness but only a rich purply pink

Tourmaline is a dust magnet

VL,
No matter what you cut or make, I will always enjoy your pictures. So, what's the stone? Why the desire or reason it is a smooth surfaced "cone"?
