I am leaning towards buying this diamond to be set in an engagement ring.

GIA-certificate

Round Brilliant (claims to be Hearts and Arrows)
Carat: 1.33
Color: F
Clarity: VS1
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Flourescence: None

Table: 56%
Depth: 61.6%
Girdle: thin - medium
Crown: 34.5 degrees
Pavilion: 41.0 degrees
Culet: none
Measurements: 7.08 x 7.10 x 4.37

Price is $11,800

On the HCA, it appears as 1.8 Excellent, with Ex-Vg-Vg-Vg for the breakout.

Before I make the final plunge, let me know what you all think - is this a good stone, and how is it for the price?

Thanks!

Looks pretty good! You know that stone is about $11,200 at James Allen with the wire discount, right?

Were you trying to get a best price or just figure the quality of this stone? It really looks decent although I'd be interested in the Sarin.

Thanks - I''m a newbie to this process, so appreciate your feedback :)

To be honest I was trying to get an idea of the stone''s quality and if I was quoted a fair price.

I had no idea the exact same stone was on James Allen, but it appears that after the wire discount it would be about ~ $11,700 not 11,200. So looks like the $11,800 price I was quoted is fair.

As for the Ideal Scope and Sarin reports, I assume the best way for me to get those is to take the stone for an independent appraisal, and ask them to provide that information?

I don''t think the jeweler I''m dealing with has either of those pieces of info....

thanks.

It is listed by James Allen for $11210, wire transfer price.

James Allen can get you Sarin and IS. Some appraisers, too. Ask your appraiser beforehand if they have these capabilities.

Hi all,

I just received a Sarin scan with the following dimensions:

1.329 ct
Diam: 7.10mm (7.08-7.12) x 4.38
Depth: 61.7%
Crown angle: 34.8
Crown %: 15.9%
Pav angle: 40.9
Pav %: 42.7%
Table: 3.95mm, 55.7%
Culet: 0.3% v.small
Girdle: 1.4% (0.9 - 1.6%)

Can you tell me what you think about this diamond, with this info?

I don''t have an Ideal-scope image yet.

Thanks,
Raj

From the Sarin it sounds like a winner!
