yay lilylover! I''m so happy to read that you kitty is back home :)

You could always buy a mesh fence (like a corral?), not only for safety but it will also ensure your cat doesn''t wander onto someone else''s property. I''m all for cats being able to roam outdoors, but our neighbor''s cats drives me crazy. It kills birds and poops in the garden. Yuck.

I''m so happy for you. I really thought he''d be back but didn''t want to get your hopes up if you were so certain. Some cats just get crazy Spring Fever and go hog wild for a few days. One of our cats got caught in our neighbor''s garage for a couple of days & I was SOOOO worried, but she turned up fine (also hungry/tired). There are coyotes around here too so we ended up making all of our cats "house only" these days but I still wonder about that. They do seem to enjoy the outside so much.

Anyway -- glad your fur baby is home safe w/you tonight.

Great news lilylover, so glad he''s back home!!!!!

Just wanted to say that I am SO HAPPY that this story had a happy ending!!!

GREAT news, everyone! All of the hopeful thinking must have worked, because tonight we heard a very loud meow outside our front door and there he was, just asking to come in! He looks perfectly fine, but he was very very hungry and thirsty. He hasn''t stopped meowing (he''s siamese --- so very vocal) and purring since he has come home. I have NO idea where he has been for the past two days and what he was doing, but I am so glad that he is back! I feel like I should never let him outdoors again, but I know that is not realistic. We tried keeping him inside for 2 years and he was miserable and constantly trying to escape. We are definitely going to put a collar on him and make sure that he doesn''t go out while it is dark outside.

So relieved!
I am so happy he''s home, Lilylover!!!

I, too, have a Siamese (mix) who''s an indoor cat/escape artist, and he''s gotten out before, but never for much longer than 8-10 hours. One day he was gone for almost 24 hours and I was beside myself with worry. I''m so glad your baby has come home and that you''ll be able to be more vigilant about his outside time.

I thought he''d be back and I''m so glad he is. Maybe he was just trapped in somebody''s garage.
So glad your kitty is home safe and sound!!

And lulu - the cat in your profile pic looks EXACTLY like my Peanut! Do you have a larger picture somewhere? I swear they could be twins!!!

That''s Winston. (aka Bitsy) I''ll see if I can post a larger picture.

If you are looking into leashes, try this: Come With Me Kitty Harness. I can''t say if it works, it just happened to catch my eye the other day while shopping online. Good luck, and so happy to read that he came home!

I have one of these because my cat HATES to go in his carrier (takes a good 10 minutes to get him in) and I''ve always been worried about an emergency situation where we''d have to get him out of the house quickly. Well, he doesn''t like the harness much better than the carrier, but it is a lot easier to get him into. But he will not walk with it on. Every time I''ve tried, he freezes up so I would have to drag him along if we were actually going to walk. And if you don''t get it positioned just right, or if it''s too tight, it will disturb their center of balance and they''ll just fall over! Happened to my poor little guy the first time I tried it, and of course I laughed, which might partly explain his dislike for it now...

I have a harness for my cat and he absolutely adores it. He''s mainly an indoor kitty so this way he gets to go out into the garden and have some freedom without me panicking.

I am so, so glad he''s back! I can imagine how happy you must''ve been to see him!

I know he likes to go outside...but I am in the same camp as those who suggested that you please keep him inside...so I hope you can find some way to enclose the fence, etc...
