7 days no reply. No changes to the part I want changed in a month almost. This vendor usually replies in 1 business day. They are progressing other custom orders in the CAD process but not mine. I'm at my wits end I think. I guess I've annoyed them to death.

This is the second consecutive time I've had to wait a week for a reply. I think I give up...my budget is rock bottom poor. I've paid $1400 via layaway on this ring. No refunds. I'm starting to feel like a dream ring is an unachievable fairytale for me.:cry2::cry2::cry2:
I hate venting but I'm too frustrated. This is not talking about DK btw.

So sorry to hear this. Have you also tried to call them?

As difficult as it is you need to relax.
If the “tone” in your messages has been a bit terse because youre anxious and badly wanting your ring “now”, yes, they might be going “ugh, that woman is so picky and demanding”.
However, I’m sure that they have lots of orders to complete apart from yours. Perhaps the person who is working in your ring is off work (sick or holiday) perhaps other orders have precedence over yours, if you’ve been submitting changes you probably have to go back in the work queue. Also different aspects of your ring manufacture might rely on other suppliers or vendors so maybe the delay is out of their hands.
You will get your ring and it will be beautiful and you will love it, you just have to try and keep your impatience (totally understandly though) level down as low as you can.
If they’ve already indicated that they will let you know when it’s finished, sending them an email or phoning them unfortunately doesn’t speed it up. They probably haven’t replied because there is no “update” since last time you contacted them.
Take a deep breath and relax.
It won’t be too much longer.

Hi @lunamortem

I'm really sorry you're feeling so discouraged. :blackeye:

So - just to recap - you decided to not go with DKJ? Last I read was that you had decided to, so I'm guessing you changed your mind?

The jeweler you chose in the end - are they reputable? Are they local? Is it someone online that people use here? Lots of us have contacts within various jewelers, so if it's a typical PS vendor, spill the name and someone here might have some contact they can point you towards.

Did you decide on the eternity ring? Your budget, as I recall, was $5500 - which is NOT 'rock bottom poor'! What ring did you choose in the end? Is it being custom made or is it a pre-made setting?

At this point, I'm not sure which direction you chose, so I'd love to hear what decisions you made.

ETA Now I'm REALLY lost! I just re-read the few posts you've made and I thought you had only made a decision to go with DKJ last week...but in your OP in this thread you mention you've been waiting a month and have already paid money? Can you pls clarify what's going on? I'm a bit lost at this point....

Is this for a halo you were having made? Who did you go with? How long did they quote you for the completion? DK is making me a halo now and he said it would be about a month once we finalized the design. When I was still making changes, there would be times I didn’t get a reply for a week or more. I understand the frustration, but it will all be worth it!

Not yet. Was saving that for a last resort.

I'm actually not anxious I'm more discouraged. I only messaged them once more yesterday after it has been a week. I dont like rushing people. I'm just discouraged because I've been looking at a CAD for a month that doesn't look like what I want. I asked them to remove one thing and their sketch artist altered other parts of the ring that were perfect before they removed that one thing without my requesting of it.

I went with DKJ for an eternity band/wedding band this post is about my engagement ring that I made with a different vendor before I knew about DKJ. A few years ago I lost my entire wedding set. It was devastating and it took a few years to get through the guilt of losing it. By rock bottom poor I mean I dont have the funds to buy a ring outright. I need a payment plan with low payments available. He hasn't replied yet to my payment plan offer but I already expected that since he's hugely popular.

Got it. Well, i hope he gets back to you soon. If you haven't agreed yet on the financial terms, how does he have so much of your money already? I'm guessing you've chosen a ring? Would you like to share that with us? Sharing projects helps pass the time, if nothing else. :))

So the vendor already has $1400 of your dollars and you need a payment plan to complete but you didnt get that in writing up front? Seems a little
cart before the horse here. Maybe that's why he is in no hurry because you cant get him money until a certain time...maybe then he will move forward
with your design? All speculation...he could just be really busy. I know its frustrating...honestly, I think you're going to have to relax for a bit and give
him a call on Tuesday and see what info you get.

I started the custom process and ended up backing out due to MY lack of patience. Waiting a week+ for a minor design change was just more than I
could handle. In reality, it should have not been a big deal to wait a week to get what I wanted. I ended up getting a pre-made ring and dont regret
it.

Maybe the "one thing" you wanted removed affects the structural strength of the ring and removing it requires redesign or rethinking the design. Getting any custom work done this time of the year is always difficult because it's the peak wedding season and also anniversary gift season and jewelers are swamped. I've always had an easier time getting things made if I wait until late summer and into the fall, when it's past the wedding work / rework, but too early for Christmas.

Sorry for the confusion. DKJ doesn't have any of my money. A different vendor let's call them "Jake" has $1400 paid to him to make my engagement ring. Jake already accepted the terms for a layaway plan. So I've been paying Jake monthly for my engagement ring via a layaway plan. DKJ hasn't gotten any of my money yet because we haven't agreed on a payment plan yet but I expect that. The $1400 wasnt a down payment.
