Well, I have tried on about 15 dresses, and this is the one I keep calling "MY dress" :-). I think it might be the one, although it''s way over what I wanted to spend. I am taking a trip to NYC in a couple of weeks to try on dresses with my sister, but I think even the New York dresses might have fierce competition with this one. This is the Melissa Sweet Becca dress, a whopping $5900. My only problem is justifying the cost of this one (and that might be a BIG problem:-o. The plus is that it''s 20% off if I get it the day after Thanksgiving...so that''s bring it down to about $4700. What do you guys think of the Becca??

wow!

i adore this dress! it''s stunning on you!!!

it''s def. one of the nicest dresses i have seen so far! if you can afford it i would def. get it! beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I think it looks fabulous on you! If you think thats "the dress" and can justify the pricetag, then looks like that is your dress!

it looks sooooo pretty on you! if you can afford it, go for it! :)

I''m in NYC and nothing I looked at compared to the Melissa Sweet dress that I got. $4700 is still a large amount to spend on a wedding dress but it you love it and can afford it then I say...get it.

Wow, that''s beautiful! The last photo really shows up the detail on the dress nicely. No comment on the cost...but it really is a beautiful dress and looks stunning on you.

It looks beautiful and like others have said if you can afford and justify it go for it :).

yowza! it costs more than we paid for catering for 100 people, but you look like a million bucks in it!

It''s breathtaking! Can you find it somewhere else (online?) for less? That''s a lot of $$.

You look great in it! Have you tried to see if netbride.com can get it (idk if they can get it, but it''s worth a shot! They''ll give you a quote on it at least!)
You can also search on craigslist for it and preownedweddingdresses.com
Maybe you''ll get lucky and another bride had it and it will fit you!

If you can afford it get it!

I would def see if netbride can get it, idk if they get that designer though! Cant hurt to ask!
Plus, theyll meet the 4700.00 price tag and you won''t have to get it on thanksgiving!

I love it! And you look great in it! That''s a very elegant and sophisticated dress!

Beautiful dress, but (JMHO) I think you can do a lot better on the price. Think about how much more money you could put into something like catering, decorations, invitations, or whatever! How about something like these:

Mori Lee 2302
Mon Cheri 18252 Reese
Allure Bridals 8554 (can''t get the link to work)
DB/Galina Signature SY9501

Now, if the Melissa Sweet is THE one, nobody should judge you for spending the money on it...just saying that there are some more practical, similar-looking alternatives. Good luck either way!

Well, the dress is very, very beautiful, but I think that your lovely figure and pretty face make it even more so. If you feel that this is a splurge you are comfortable with, go for it, but if you are feeling hesitant, it''s clear to me that you would look amazing and perfect in less expensive gowns.

The dress is gorgeous and looks fabulous on you.
I suspect, however, that many dresses will look nice on you and your lovely figure. If you are not 100% sold on this one, I say keep looking if budget is a concern .. if not - go for it!

Thanks everyone and JSTARFIREB!! I think you have all motivated me to look a little further. That''s a GREAT thing as it could mean saving a lot of money. I liked the last dress, Jstarfireb....the Galina from DB. I am going to go to DB and try that on this week. Thanks for the lead!!

Will keep you all updated...it is a real PROCESS to find the right one!! :-) Oh....also, we are ALL over the map trying to decide where to plan this wedding. My fiancee and I met in St John a year and a half ago, so we are thinking of doing it there, but still considering other locations that would be a bit easier....savannah, ga, Boston, MA area. I saw Tybee''s thread and LOVED her pics of Caneel Bay''s location and the sugar mill ruins there. So many decisions!!

You look amazing - Melissa Sweet might wanna think about you modeling for them!!! Congrats!

Glad you liked my suggestions! The DB dress could save you quite a bit of cash. I got mine from David''s too. I tried on the dress I suggested for you...it was very beautiful but not really my style. I preferred this one on myself. Good luck and have fun with dress shopping!

Beautiful!

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Look at dresses in NYC but if you keep coming back to this one then I say go for it. 20% off is significant! It''s worth it if nothing else gives you the feeling that this one does.

What a beautiful dress!

That dress is an absolute stunner! Like the others suggested, maybe you could shop around a bit? $5K is a lot to plop down on a dress. But if you can afford it, and you love it, then by all means, go for it!

Another suggestion - have you tried any consignment shops? I went to one on a whim and fell in love with my dress. And bought pretty much on the spot (I saved over half off retail!)

If you're ever in the Philly area, check this place out: http://www.sabrinaann.com/423333.html They have a lot more dresses than those that are on the website. And the prices can't be beat.

Good luck!

Yep, that is most definitely THE dress!

Love it!

You look amazing in that dress!!! If you can swing it, I''d go for it.

What an absolutely gorgeous dress!!!! It''s looks fabulous on you. If you can afford it, I''d say take it and run!

I love the dress on you. It is absolutely gorgeous. But I personally couldn''t get over the price. I suggest trying to find it for less, because you probably can.

For instance, I found someone selling it on Craigslist in a 2 here (I am guessing you are around a 2 from your pic). They are asking $3500, but my guess is that this means they are probably really only expecting to get $3000.

If you know this is "the dress" I would buy this one as long as they will ship it to where you are.

WOW, Katamari....I''ll definitely follow up on this lead. Thanks!!!!! The dress I was trying on in the pics I posted was a size 2. The woman in the store thought I should order a size four, based on my measurements (I was btw the 2 and 4). BUT, the two was close enough in my opinion....it would just depend on how much this used size 2 on Cragistlist was altered. If it was made smaller, it would be tough to fit. I''ll keep you updated, and thanks again!
