My bf''s secretary just got engaged with a 2-carat Solasfera diamond and it''s gorgeous!!! This is the first time I''ve ever seen the stone in person and although it was gorgeous, I can see why some people would think that it would be too busy. Her carat size is definitely a good one for the Solasfera cut. It''s a J color, VVS2 diamond, and it faces up SOOOO white! I know that Mara and a few others have a J stone, and they say that it faces up really white, but I never really believed it because I''m super color sensitive.

Well, now I believe it. I could still detect a hint of color, but much of it was masked by the outrageous sparkle of the diamond. And being that the girl has a size 3.5 finger, that rock looks like it''s 3 carats, not two.

I''ll be going setting shopping with her (it''s in a temp setting for now), so I will post pics as soon as I can, which shouldn''t be a problem, since she loves showing off her ring. Hand shots will be included to show how big the rock looks on her finger.

I would LOVE to see a Solasfera in person! Just from seeing the idealscope images on a few of them, they are probably my dream diamond.

YUM!!! I''m not a big Solasfera fan because I feel like they are too busy/chaotic in their sparkle, but they sure are definitely sparkly for sure...and a 2c on a 3.5 finger? Hand shots work for me!!

I''ve never seen one either. I''d love to see some pics of this baby!!

Hm, I may not like them then. I like diamonds that are very sparkly and gorgeous without over-doing it. Guess I''ll just stick with triple ideals or H&As.

Solasfera are a round cut created by David So in New York at David S Diamonds.
They have 10 hearts and arrows instead of the standard eight.

They are blood-red on the idealscope and peg the brilliantscope.
I have seen them side by side with a good H+A and an Eightstar and preferred the Solasfera.

Because they have more facets they have a different look than a standard cut.
Some people may not like the different look.
I do.

I am very interested in the pics - always thought it would not be something I''d go for but I haven''t seen one. Thanks for sharing!

I would love to see hand pics of this beauty. I''ve never seen a Solasfera, but believe they are busily gorgeous!
