Hey guys as you know about a week ago i received my .611 I VS2 petite pave engagement ring from whiteflash well my other half gave it to me last friday morning and then went out... he didnt come home. I went to the extent of filing a missing person report as i was so worried. Any way long story short he saiz he doesnt remember anything i dont beleive him due to history and other circumstances that would suggest he is lying to me and we have broken up.
Im not sure if i mentioned in my past post but i have a 5 year old a 1 year old and a 3 month old also.
Well my partner is moving out and with him is going most of our stuff but fridge washing machine and 1 of the tv's and the nursery furniture. I have to buy everything else from scratch. I currently dont work as i have the babies so ill be surviving off a bare minimum

Sorry i hit post. Any way one thing i do still have is my ring. I need a car and some furniture in order for our kids to have basic needs met getting to school having a chair to sit on dr appointments etc etc. My main concern is a car. So i guess i need to sell my ring. I am aware it is not a costly ring we paid $3500 aud + $410 duties and im aware although its new unless i return it i wont get that much :( this whole thing breaks my heart and this rubs salt in to the wound. I need advice on how to go about this so i can get a car for me and my children and enough money that it will be as reliable as possible on such a budget l. Any advice for me ? Thank you

Oh and in regards to returning it my ex would have to do it and he would be the one to receive the refund wich i probably would not see a cent of there for its not an option

I'm very sorry, that's terrible! Maybe list it on preloved if you have the paperwork and see if you get a good price?

Oh. My. Gosh.
Hugs!

I'm so sorry for whatever transpired between you and your partner. :((

Sell it on preloved or consign it. Don't let him get anything for it....

Yes i have all the paper work box and diamond kit that came with it. Not sure what preloved is whats your oppinion on ebay ? Im hoping for a quickish sale

Oh wow, I'm so sorry for what's happened! I remember reading your threads a while back.

I've never sold jewelry on ebay, but I've sold a few high priced items there. I never liked how the fees sneakily add up, from ebay, Paypal, and the currency conversions (unfortunately Paypal is the most secure way to do it). Depending on how the buyer pays for it, it could be 10% or even more, which is somewhat close to the consignment fees from stores like GOG. I'm assuming you've never sold anything through ebay, so you'll have no feedback history and I can't say a lot of people would offer any reasonable amount for such a high risk transaction (in their mind). I suggest try selling it own your own first, show all the certs and receipt, and include the WF link for the ACA stone so people can see the IS/ASET images.

PS has its own Preloved section (on the top toolbar, go to 'forum', 'PS cafe' and then 'preloved PS jewels). You'll have to list it on sites like loupetroop since there's no direct selling allowed on PS, but you can link to the loupetroop/etc page and advertise here.

While you can't get the money refunded by WF, I'd contact them to see whether you can do the free ring sizing on your own. If you can do that without involving the other person, it might be easier to sell, especially since it would be WF that does the sizing (I imagine more than a few people disregard rings on loupetroop/etc based on the size of the ring). It's a real long shot (with customs/duties, etc), but it might help.

Hope everything works out for you!

If you are hoping for a quicker sale, I'd try listing on DiamondBistro and Loupetroop first and post links in the Preloved area for it. On eBay, besides it being like a big garage sale, you will lose 10% to eBay as Hawk said, no getting around that, and 3-6% on Paypal fees depending on where the buyer resides (overseas or in your own country). Then shipping is a major nightmare. Some countries will not allow insurance on imported jewelry items (like Canada). You'd need to read through the postal codes for the various countries.

I also think with a nice stone like a WF stone, you will have better luck with a more informed audience (DB and LT) as opposed to eBay, where you will still likely get only rock bottom pricing and bargain hunters and are likely to make less that way, IMO, especially with a nice well cut piece, where most people aren't going to care at all about the premium that may entail.

Good luck! I'm so sorry things ended up this way for you!

If you haven't damaged it in any way, you might try returning it depending on whether the vendor would accept returns. Not sure how long ago it was purchased...

It wouldn't hurt contacting Whiteflash for what they do in circumstances like this. Possibly they will allow you to make the return.

Another place to sell pre owned is Pearlmans.

Do you have any finger shots?

I am so sorry. I know it is not much comfort, but you dodged a bullet with this man.

I agree with the other posters that unless you have high feedback and know the ropes, ebay is not the place to sell a high quality diamond. People there want it cheap. And the scammers want it for free. And between ebay and paypal and even shipping, the fees have become rediculously high.
