What a good find! It looks lovely on you

Ditto!

How's the fit--do these rolling rings run true to size, or is it better to order a larger size up?

I'm not sure about authenticity, sorry.

I had started a thread about this a few weeks back. Based on what everyone said as well as some info I got from Cartier via email (contrary to the info on there site) I went one euro size up from what my normal ring size is. I wear a 7.25 which is a 55 but I went 56, if that makes sense. Fits perfectly.

Looks great on you! I wear the same size and will be buying this ring late summer. I like the mm of the bands in yours. If you are able to find out what width they are please update. I know you wanted the authentic ring, but even if this isn't it is still really nice :))
Did they advertise it as genuine? But no papers or red box?

From all the googling and other rings I've found I do think it is authentic. I really love. the size. Makes a statement on its own but can stack without it being overbearing

I did look bak at all the pics in the auction and the rose band was shown with Cartier markings on the inside. I guess that doesn't mean much? I don't have a clue about authenticating stuff like this. It also said it was 2.5mm bands. Is that what you decided they were?

Any pics of it with the ering? (Just curious! :) )

Haha I'm waffling! Its beautiful but it isn't "mind clean enough for me. I keep putting it on and thinking "what if its fake....I'll be returning it and paying extra to get it from the online store.

BUT I did take pictures of it with my ring I'll past them tonight.

Ooh, I missed this whole thread!
It looks lovely & I think you got a really good price on it. Very pretty - I think I want one too :naughty:
(By the way, I also updated my avatar & name - I was on here as Alex Tilley)

Also my mum has a couple of older Cartier pieces & there is no copyright symbol on the hallmark :))

Haha I'd know that pest in your avitar , I knew it was you ;)

I'm so glad you said that! Mine only has a hallmark the name Cartier then 750 and the size? You think that'snormal or fake???

Yes they did advise it as genuine

I've just phoned mum. She said her pieces are absolutely the real thing, but they are older estate pieces. They do have paperwork, but definitely no copyright stamp - just a hallmark, Cartier & metal stamp. So I would have no doubt that your ring is genuine as mum doesn't do fake or reproduction. I guess over time it would be easy to mislay papers, especially if you have no real notion of selling something on during your lifetime. Dad, bless him, was a stickler for authenticity, so I wouldn't worry too much. If they advertised it as Cartier then I would relax :sun:

Ha! Great you've made my day! They did advise it genuine and the inscription looks delicate. And looks well made.

Plus the seller had real good reviews and one of those gold badges.

And its old enough that it doesn't say Cartier on the outside, which was what I was looking for. So good you've lifted a weight off my shoulders.

I'm glad. Enjoy wearing it & get some more pics in SMTB!

Love it! So you're keeping it?? I hope so!

YAY! Are you deciding to keep it then? I like that it's a vintage piece. I don't know what it is but it gives it so much more flavor and I actually really like it with your ering.

Also, I was wondering if seeing them together makes you feel any different about your ering? I ask, not because I'm trying to open up something you may not want to talk about (I understand), but I was (heavens help me) at Tiffany's yesterday trying some things on (for fun) and finally found "the band" that makes my ering look really really nice. I've been shooting in the dark with it for over a year now and nothing was working really well with it, and now I know what it needs. The moment I put it on, it was like a sort of "peace" settled over the whole thing. :))

Ah Bcat you are my favorite i swear

I am keeping it, the size wasnt exactly what i was expecting (i dont know what i was expecting) but it turned out great. perfect size i think.

As for my e ring, i seem to have ruffled some feathers with my opinions and actions on it (not everyone favorite on here ive noticed ) so id prefer to not bring it up, i know you understand. but in general i totally get what you are saying!! It does make my ring look COMPLETELY differernt with the band next to it. i wanted it on my RH becuase i wanted something i could fiddle with when at my desk at work, which wouldnt work if its under my e-ring, but, if the tiffany band i was going to you doesnt work great with my current e ring hten yes that will turn into my rhr and this ring will be my wedding band.

what tiffany one did you decide on???

no worries- I wasn't expecting you to want to open up discussion on that, but just thought when saw the pics of the two together, you might have find things a little different. :)

As for me, I tried on a graduated Jazz band (bezel set) with a knife edge spacer, and it just sort of "jelled" all at once what needed to happen. But no way is $3K on .36ctw going to happen. I'm sure we can find something for much less and similar with a little looking around. Unfortunately, I just used up my "good graces" for probably the rest of the year just before I found this (like literally hours before), so maybe next year if I am lucky I have some hope to complete it. :)

So, I love the idea! The knife edge breaks it up so the miss match band and halo would looks so good!!!
The Brian Gavin bezel is on my list. That was going to be one of my wedding bands (along with that tiffany rope one) if I don't use this cartier. Which to be honest, I'm liking the idea of more and more.

The BG one is like 1k, the wf is 650, but not as delicate I feel like

hmmm....must go check out WF now....

here's a pic of how it looked together:

Oh! One of the bigger ones. Those are more expensive. :(( but the littler ones are cute too. On Whiteflash you have to search bezel

Yes- I've given up on the cute pave bands with this ring. Lesson learned. My fingers are just too "pudgy". I know they are really not, because I am only a size 5.75-6, but they always look puffy to me with the skinny bands with this ring (as you can see in the pic). So, I will use them instead as "stackables" with my wedding band, which they look fab with. :)

besides, you don't have pudgy looking fingers and your pear has enough shape that a smaller bezel band wouldn't compete but would accent. The BGD one does have slightly larger melee than the WF one. Check IDJ as well. :) And....just a thought, but the rolling ring might look nice with a bezel band....worth a stroll out to a local store to see, perhaps? :naughty:

well darn I don't think that Brian Gavin wants any cheaperso he does have 1 with larger diamonds and alternating sizes

Oh my gosh it is STUNNING!!!! Please get out your ruler or calipers stat and measure that beauty. I need one in exactly that size. It is so so beautiful! Substantial enough and still delicate. And it looks amazing with your ering. I really really love it. Great find!

I honestly have no idea what size it is and i dont think i have any rulers in the house  sometimes i think the smallest one, then i think its the "small" one on the website, so i am no help! haha I wish i could find Enerchis post, she posted one with all sorts of rolling ring sizes.
And thanks sweetie I really am happy with it!

OMG-This is perfect!!! I love it with your pear  It's vintage-y and unique and looks great together! I would wear those two rings together in a heartbeat :))

Edit to add:Oops-not sure why your pic didn't show up. Love that picture. I saved to my favorite looks file!

thanks woofmama!! I just told my FI I was a little sad because now i have no excuse to buy another wedding band
youre right it does look really good together, I was trying to fight it but it does. :D

It seriously does. It's a perfect match. I would never have thought to pair those two but it's kind of magic!
