Can you see that (^)?

Oh, okay! So the halo with the split shank.

Unfortunately, a setting like this (that's well done) is going to take up a lot of your budget unless you can find something second-hand. It's a lot of metal and a lot of diamonds. If you want to go down that path, that means a smaller diamond- which is absolutely fine, if it's what you think she wants.

What kind/style of jewelry does your girlfriend usually wear?

ETA: The Robbins Bros. ring doesn't list any info about the diamonds, so I'd pass unless you're able to get it.

How bout this?

setting: Split Shank Setting

diamond: Yummy ACA diamond

you get a discount for being a pricescope member and there's no tax unless you live in Texas, I've bought from them a few times and I def recommend, if you move quickly they may even be able to work within your time constraints!

I would not recommend buying from Sam's Club. It may be convenient, ready-made, etc., but you will likely not find high quality.

The sites that people have been linking are all places that have good reputations. In addition, http://www.whiteflash.com/ is a favorite on here as well as http://www.goodoldgold.com/.

What do you think of something like this: http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=2276? It's just slightly over-budget, and is reminiscent of the split-shank that you like. Is a vintage-style like this definitely out? If it's a possibility, you might want to look through the rings on that site, because they have a lot of rings that are already made and within your budget. No. 1081 here is a similar setting without the colored stones.

If you could tell us more about your girlfriend's style, we can try to make more directed suggestions.

Whiteflash has a few different split-shank styles (e.g., Asscherhalo_lover's post above). If you call Whiteflash, they will certainly be able to walk you through your purchase.

I like the stone that asscherhalo_lover posted. Here's a Whiteflash bezel setting that might work.

This is another beautiful Whiteflash setting.
