evilin, several of the rings you posted are desinger settings (which usually are priced to not include a center stone) are more than your budget. I think diamondseeker2006 has a wonderful suggestion of putting your very nice budget all into the diamond and set it into a simple setting for now. Then your gal can just to upgrade the setting at some point if she wishes.

Is 2-3 k your budget for the whole thing, or just the setting?

If its the former, I'm sorry but the others are correct - many of these settings could take up most of your budget.
I'm not sure where you are getting your prices from?

If its the latter, I agree with DS, Mrs etc - getting a top notch stone in a simple setting and letting your girl choose a permanent one later is the way to go.
