I am considering this diamond from Whiteflash, and would like your opinions. It would be set in a four-prong pendant. It looks pretty good to me, but I want to make sure I am not overlooking anything. Based on the pictures, it is clearly not an H&A (nor is it priced as one) because a few of the arrows are distorted. I love the pictures of diamonds with sharp, clean arrows that are posted here, but will it make much difference in normal viewing conditions? Do you really see those arrows clearly IRL? The symmetry is only very good, but I have been told I will not see a difference between VG and excellent.

Also, I am not an expert at “reading” IS images. Should I be concerned that the middle area (the circle just inside the arrow heads) is a light red/pink rather than dark red?

The price is comfortably within budget, so I could spend a little more for a better cut. However, I know stones in this size are rare and I really like the combo of F color and medium blue fluorescence.

The HCA score is 0.7 or 0.9 (depending on whether I use the GIA report #s or the Sarin #s), within the TIC range, EX/EX/EX/VG.

WF says the stone is eyeclean and beautiful. Are there any other images or information I should request?

Thanks, Ellen! I tried on a 0.93 at Tiffany and loved the size (I didn''t have the nerve to ask to see the cert. for the diameter though). Of course, I wouldn''t mind going bigger, but the price jump is substantial.

Yes. And that''s what makes this one so nice. It''s definitely going to give the look of at least 1 ct.

Any other opinions out there? If this is the one, I need to pull the trigger later today. I am both excited and nervous.

Can anyone explain to me why on the IS the center circle (just inside the arrow heads) is a lighter red than the outer circle? (On the ASET, it is reversed and the inner circle is a darker red.) Does lighter red mean less light return in that area? I know this stone won''t have the edge-to-edge light return of an eightstar (which I love) but I''d like to come as close as possible.

I think it would make a lovely pendant! I''m not a big-time expert but I think as long as you don''t see white spots in the center of the IS, it''s okay. I think I have read in the past that the intensity of the color in an IS is not a factor. Any experts want to chime in on her IS question?

I think it could be the table reflection you are seeing, this is normal. You can see it more on the ASET, the IS image and ASET are excellent and nothing to worry about!

Kay, it could be a few things (harmless), honestly, you have nothing to worry about with this stone. It's fine!

Ditto above comments - it looks beautiful!

Thank you all for your help. I thought it looked good, but it is nice to have reassurance on a purchase of this size.

This actually happened much more quickly than I expected it to. I thought it would take several weeks to find a diamond that met my cut, size, color and clarity specs. I emailed Bob Monday night telling him what I was looking for because I did not see anything on the WF website. Tuesday morning, he emailed me info on 3 diamonds he found searching the lists. I gave him the go ahead to order this one because we both thought it looked like the best of the 3 on paper. By yesterday afternoon, I had all the pictures. It was really amazingly fast service by WF.

I am really excited. Now I just have to finalize my setting choice tonight so I can give the go ahead to have it set.
