Hello everyone...
I am getting my 2.68 RB reset in an Emilya halo by Victor Canera. I am also getting a matching band. The only thing left to do is send him a ring size, but I'm having some issues deciding which direction to take.
My original e-ring was sized to a 5.5. It was a thin pave twisted split shank, and I didn't wear it with a wedding band. The size was pretty much perfect. I was able to wear it until about my seventh month of pregnancy, then again about three months after my daughter was born. After I lost my pregnancy weight, my fingers actually ended up smaller than before, to my surprise. As a result, last winter I actually quit wearing my ring for a couple of months because it was so loose that I was afraid of losing it.
Now that it's summer, my fingers are a bit larger again. I have purchased two sets of 2 mm sizing bands to determine a correct size for Victor. I will send him the exact band that I choose as per his suggestion. He told me that ring sizers can vary considerably and boy, is that true!
Victor also told me that it's easier to size pave down, but safer to size it up. My band will be eternity style and so, of course, couldn't be sized.
We may or may not have another child. I'm assuming that if we did my fingers would return to the size that they are now (hopefully - there are no guarantees I guess!).
What I'm wondering is if I should -
1) size as small as I think I could based on my 'summer' ring size (probably a 5) even if my rings end up a little tighter than I'd like, Assuming that they will fit through the winter, or;
2) size comfortably for my 'summer' ring size (probably a 5.25) and then look at getting sizing beads if needed so that I can wear the rings year round.
I've never had sizing beads, so I'm not sure what the pros and cons are. I was hoping that other ladies who have big seasonal variances in ring size could help me out with some advice from their experiences.
Thank you!
