I have a question about princess diamonds and how the table and depth affect the appearance. I found this diamond that has a low depth percentage at 62.2% and I was wondering if this affects the diamonds fire or brilliance. I was looking for a diamond with a low depth percentage because it appears that this translate to a larger face on the diamond. This diamond is 5.62x5.66 which is larger than most 1+ carat diamonds that I have seen. Is this an easy way to make the diamond look bigger or do you give up a lot in the fire and brilliance department?

Depth alone does not determine whether a princess cut will be brilliant or not - all the parameters of the cut must cooperate to make the diamond work like a prism...

Obviously, the stone is desirable for the reason you mentioned. The small table combined with lesser depth could work to create good light return just fine. Is there any way the seller could provide some test of light return on this stone?
